@ Rob Bricken. Great article, I agree with you on the big point that they got the big points right. I also have my quibbles and cavils–I think you could have cut the entire Tyrion/Jon “jail” scene and didn’t believe that a guy who let his brother out of jail would be allowed a visitor. And I do think the Dothraki…
Thanks for posting. I knew nothing about all this until the John Oliver piece and I was shocked.
I had to search for more info about the aborted fetus connection to the chicken pox vaccine b/c I hadn’t heard about that and it sounded like urban myth. It’s not a myth, but apparently the entire cell line comes from just two fetuses that were aborted in the 1960s and the line has continued to grow since then. FYI.
Yeah... But Brienne’s physical strength and determination has always coexisted with her vulnerability. That’s what makes her such a compelling and noble character. By contrast, in many ways Arya’s loss of vulnerability has made her much harder to relate to since she left Bravos.
Obama’s a quasi-Gen X President. He’s right on the cusp in term of years, but IMO, there’s nothing boomer about him. He’s a multi-racial, only child who smoked dope at Columbia and took Michelle to see “Do The Right Thing” for their first date–sounds pretty Gen X to me. I can relate to that a lot more than I can to…
This is true. I’ve dealt with it and when I googled a ton of hits came up on bulletin boards etc. Amazed that the FDA is actually paying attention.
This! My parents used to record me on old analogue equipment. What’s great is that a little kid will lose self-consciousness with audio in a way they never will with a camera pointed at them.
I’ve never seen Tuttarosa tomatoes–maybe regional, but I now swear by Muir Glen Fire Roasted tomatoes. San Marzano are great, but a)expensive and b)not always authentic.
Sideways and zig zag, shoulders steering you to the next pocket.
That’s an Amazon show. Still surprising. But Netflix tends to be on point.
Agreed. I think it’s mostly b/c he’s extremely prolific. That said, some editing and a thick red pen would serve him well.
Maybe it varies per series, or maybe per app? But via Apple TV and the TV App on my LG I’ve done Jessica Jones & One Day At A Time in Italian and I’m thinking of doing Queer Eye. I know I’ve seen German listed. And at the end of the shows, you see all these credits for voice actors in a ton of languages.
Wow! I use cone shaped ones at home, but this should be posted next to EVERY office microwave nationwide!
Actually you don’t need the Google extension–you just need to watch Netflix Originals! They offer subtitles and dubbing for a wide range of languages beyond Spanish & French which was typically all that was available on region 1 DVDs including Chinese, Portuguese, Turkish and my fav., Italian.
No, bears are not friends with adult people. But this was a tiny human. Why should adult bears be any different from adult humans when faced with a vulnerable baby creature. We heart puppies and baby bears and anything small with wide eyes. Bears could be wired the same way, and some kind of protective…
I’m starting to think Gillibrand is Trump’s worst nightmare.
Thanks Nick! Making a good playlist takes a lot of time and energy. Much apprecaited.
You are my kind of traveler–way to go!
Hey, he TOTALLY knows that Apollo Creed is the black guy who gets beat by Rocky at the end of Rocky 2!
