Had no idea! Love it! Makes so much sense!

I've posted this tip before - wonder if you got it from a comment of mine? :)

I was taught in a cooking class that simmering cinnamon in water on the stovetop was "a French housewives' trick" for getting rid of the smell after you cook fish. I've used it and it works! (just don't forget to take it off the stove)

For me the bigger issue is having to go online at all. Email is a distraction. Online is a distraction. Email + Online = huge distraction. Anything that can keep me working and off the internet is the gold standard.

Me too - frozen spinach is great for this! Only problem is too many frozen things and you have to add a lot of liquids.

1) Checklists. I have a checklist for toiletries, electronics, my plane bag, and it really helps.

In LA and NYC there can be a long wait to get into classes, or the classes fill up instantly, depending on how they do their enrollment. When I was doing UCB in NYC, the only way I could successfully get into classes, was to subscribe to their RSS feed - that's how fast they fill up.

I took a bunch of Improv classes at Upright Citzens Brigade in NYC and conclusions from article are spot on, though there are even more lessons to be learned; the biggest of all is:

Have used the Ferguson "Does this need to be said? Does this need to be said now? Does this need to be said by Me?" trick to SAVE MY %$$ in the past! Usually answer is: "Yes, yes, no!" Some of the best advice I've ever heard.

What's great about listening to tons of NPR is that it's so familiar - even the promos and interstitials my station plays - everything repeats so much it's easy to tune it in and out of consciousness. I focus on what gets my attention, and if I miss it I know I'll get another shot.

Just graduated with distinction! Thanks again for the referral. Now trying a Wharton class on marketing, but so far it's not nearly as entertaining or thought provoking.

If you lose it, log into iCloud and use the AMAZING find my iPhone feature. I did this recently and it worked great. Locked the phone (ermm... I hadn't done that) and sends a whatever message you want to the home screen such as your contact info or "reward offered"... Feature also tracks you iPhone, so you can see

Hired a housecleaner years ago and never looked back! She comes every other week and it's great to have someone tackle predictable chores like cometing out the bathtub, laundry, etc. Even when times have been tight, I've found the money. Totally worth it

Need help with Lightning. Trying to sync with iCal, but seems like best I can do is get it to appear as a Read Only. If I add an event in Postbox/Lightening, I can't get it to appear back in iCal. Any pointers much appreciated. Oh, and my iCal, I think, is synced with my gCal, so that might be an option.

aThis is how to prep an artichoke HEART not an artichoke. Many good recipes use much more of the choke.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I had signed up for a few courses via EdEx at the same time as this one was starting, and Prof. Ariely's class, and the Coursera interface are so far superior, I've dropped the other two and have decided to pursue certificate of Distinction on this one.

My best purchase ever - buying a black and white laser printer on sale for $65 (Samsung 1865W) to replace a dead color, inkjet, multi-function machine. . I rarely have to replace the ink and buy replacement ink cheaply through Ink Owl. Color is a lot of fun, but it's not remotely worth the expense or the hassle.

Therapy can be an incredibly beneficial experience - I'm a huge, huge fan. Finding the right person takes some work, but it's totally worth it.

Find ways to set yourself up for a "Win" every day. The night before you go to bed, or in the morning, write down a short, manageable list of things to accomplish, and enjoy checking them off. The key is they should be small, attainable goals.

When I do that they go bad almost overnight. I LOVE the advie I got from LH on this.
