One reason I wash veggies in water & white vinegar bath as soon as I get them... helps keep the mold at bay longer. Pretty sure I learned this from Lifehacker in article about keeping berries... and I do it with pretty much everything. Much cheaper than and as effective as those bottles of "veggie wash" you can buy.

Thanks to the powerful restaurant lobby, minimum wage for tipped workers hasn't been raised in 23 years - that's since 1991 - it's $2.13 an hour (some individual states have raised it). This means that employers get out of paying a fair wage and patrons are expected to pay the difference via tips while restaurant

You left out Talk To Your Friends and especially Talk To Her Friends. Your sweetie may be dying to tell you her thoughts, but she may well have a best friend who can give you the inside scoop on what she's thinking. For example, my BFs have been instructed to tell him that a) I prefer vintage and b) I'd prefer

And please consider "conflict free" diamonds. Hate to that kind of internet finger-wagger, but "blood diamonds" are real; you don't want your love to profit some violent militia leader. Vintage is a great option (I've told my fella that's what I prefer - you could also get a vintage stone and have it reset). There

Yes. The intention is to protect a child's self-esteem from blows. But it doesn't work that way. Instead giving arbitrary praise, or praise for half-efforts and mediocrity undermines the developing self.

So happy to read this here. This is a great technique to help foster genuine self-esteem vs. the "everyone gets a trophy" BS version that has become culturally dominant.

I rarely watch TV, but I listen to it all the time. I have it set up so I can listen to whatever I'm playing on the DVR in every room in the house (selectively). I haven't watched The Daily Show in years, but I never miss an episode. Instead it's on while I cook, clean, fold clothes, floss etc. Most TV shows work

Thanks for taking the time to write back! I'm gradually getting the swing of it and what you wrote was very helpful.

Oh - and how would I uninstall any of these if I needed to. Thanks again.

Thanks for the list! I'm new to jailbreaking and installed some of these, but can't find them anywhere to set preferences or enable/disable. Specifically Simplock & Tabless. When I restart Springboard, slide to unlock is gone, but would like the option to bring it back. And the tabs are still there.

Some of these old comments are confusing. I'm a relatively new iPhone person (yes, switched from Android) - For current Jailbreak on ios7 can someone please explain what happens when there is an update to ios7. There's a comment/discussion about it below, but its from 2011.

Thanks. I started to explore Pocket and realized I'd signed up for it ages ago when it was called something else. Like the app a lot.

Why do you need Pocket in addition to Evernote? I've never heard of it before and just looked at it - seems incredibly similar.

I always wonder - for the 20 min nap, does that mean 20 min ASLEEP, or does it start from the time you close your eyes and try to sleep?

Just bought our Xmas flights... for days after Xmas. And saved between $600 - $900 bucks and hassles. Boyfriend's family requires us to fly LAX to Nebraska, and there's less competition for the routes. Flying ideal times at Xmas, ideal layover airports (no place snow-prone) etc would have cost a FORTUNE...

This could be EXACTLY the app I've been dreaming of! Every productivity app has DUE dates when what I want is a DO date. I've suggested this to the Omnifocus people and hope they incorporate the idea. Haven't even tried it yet and Wish this had a desktop version!

Meditation does help anxiety, but for real benefit, it takes a little time to learn how to do it it, and while simple, it can also be difficult. Highly recommend searching in your area for a class or group that works for you. I tried several before I found a teacher who was right for me. He actually does teach via
