I was taught that a French housewife trick to counter cooking smells when preparing seafood was Cinnamon sticks in boiling water; I've done this and it totally works.

Though I'm an atheist, I took a Ramsey class and I was pleasantly surprised by how faith does and doesn't inform what he teaches. He's not a fire-n-brimstone nut bag and you can easily use all his data while completely rejecting his religion. Additionally, the class was extremely low cost and affordable SOLELY

Reinforce all the seams on Ikea furniture with wood glue when you build it - best advice I've ever been given. It makes the stuff exponentially sturdier. No more falling apart bookcases!

"Thank you." I'm forcing myself to smile as soon as I wake up and to say "thank you" to the day. And most nights I sit and write out 5 things that day that I'm grateful for. It could be as seemingly small as a great grilled cheese sandwich; usually it's people.

Good for you for recognizing how your inner monologue affects your mood and for being proactive about it. I highly recommend David Burns' book "Feeling Good" if you don't know it. He goes into great detail about this - it's the basis of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

A balance - have the big dreams, but be realistic about how hard you have to work to make them come true.

If the developers are reading the comments, I'd be more interested in this if it also had a "Random setting" - I don't like knowing how long the intervals are - I'd rather have it surprise me as if to say "Ermm... do you know where you brain is?" With scheduled intervals it feels more like a clock or counter.

1) Yes, @Jason has a point - 2nd sentence was redundant.

Biggest crime in written English is verbosity. If you can say something with 3 words, don't use 7.

I go nuts when people confuse their subject pronouns (I, you, he, she, you, they) with object pronouns (me, you, him, her, us, you, them). People really struggle with this in spoken English when they have to join the subject or object with an "and":

I bought this for my desktop when it was on a $2 Tuesday sale and I'm surprised by how much I like and use it. That said, its regular price is way too high. But it was $2 bucks well spent.

Coffee Filters! That's brilliant! I live in a cool vintage place with no dishwasher & love doing mise-en-place, but hate messing up extra bowls I have to clean. Thanks!

Didn't even dawn on me... that said, it is an effective plug.

Urg, the link didn't go through well, but you get the idea.

Look no further than the Stainless steal Tramontina sets offered by Walmart. Yes, Walmart. I was skeptical too. But these pans are highly rated by America's Test Kitchen & others... and me. They're equivalent in all but the most subtle ways to All-Clad, but cost a fraction of the price. I've had them for 2 years

Ah, so that's why I like using chatterblocker so much (www.chatterblocker.com).. and I've added my own tracks in there too (I think via show package contents) to mix it up; maybe I'll add one of the tracks posted by jsnydr

Ooh judgey.... actually it was holidays and it seemed like a good store to get something for my boyfriend's mother & sister.

Okay, I revise this... Checking in during holidays not totally without merit as I do have to buy presents and found good deals... but it is dangerous.

The problem with deal sites is you wind up buying stuff you don't need just b/c it's on sale... and as you mentioned, it becomes compulsive. You worry about missing deals so you check all the time without realizing that you'd be perfectly happy never knowing that the Body Shop had a half price coupon available.

Packing Cubes are the single greatest invention of ALL TIME! I've traveled a lot this year for work and these are a godsend. I don't have kids, but I've heard for people with kids, they're great too b/c you can color code what baggie goes with what kid.
