I get why people criticize the book. It’s not well written. But in terms of a lightweight read, I thought it was fun. I finished it in one day and didn’t have to think much. Yes, I know that doesn’t sound like much of a glowing review, but there’s something to be said for fluff. The trailer makes the film look

I really do think Get Out deserves it for best screenplay. The more I thought about it, the more I respected how elegant and clever it is.

I just love Virginia Weidler, who played Dinah, and I was about to write “I wonder why she wasn’t more popular” but then I googled her and she was in like 44 movies, lol. Just not many I’ve seen! Sadly she died when she was only 41 due to a congenital heart problem.

I would say Bringing up Baby, then The Philadelphia Story, then Holiday, but I agree it’s close.

Is It Happened One Night considered a screwball comedy? I always thought of it as more of a road movie.

It’s one of my favorite comedies. The script was written with her in mind and it’s so clear—she’s just perfect in her role. She’s sexy as can be, and it’s nonstop laughs. Everyone went nuts for her in the Philadelphia Story (which is great, don’t get me wrong) but Bringing Up Baby is a better movie IMO.

That’s why the scene in Archer with him discovering the Ocelot always cracks me up. Seems like a pretty direct reference.

The reason why the original L&O is my all-time favorite (and actually one of my favorite network TV shows ever, period) is because it focuses on the cases and not the personal lives of the characters. Sure, the characters have their own takes on the issues, and those differences fuel discussions and make for

I think it’s because viewers, on some level are both titillated by the heinous crimes and they feel a unique sense of justice and things being right with the world when they see the perps taken down. There’s just something about sex crimes that people respond differently to—people watching the show get to feel

Speaking of Stanley Tucci, how has HE not won any academy awards yet? The man has been working forever. Emmys and Golden Globes, but no Oscars yet.

Hairspray and Crybaby were my first John Waters movies. Imagine my surprise when I got older and saw Pink Flamingos for the first time.

Dee Wallace will literally do any movie. I was visiting a friend of mine who was working on the set of a tiny production for a film called American Blend, and I turn around and there’s Dee Wallace standing there in a sari, looking beautiful. She works constantly, and has no standards particularly when it comes to

IMO, it would make more sense to have her go to prison for something she actually DID, though, like hire the hitman. That really doesn’t take too much work in the writer’s room.

Kumite! Kumite!

And Timecop. And Double Team.

I mean, is that any different from the Eye of Agamotto being treated as a spiritual talisman in Dr. Strange?

I thought it was fairly obvious that the stone was under the plants that grant the Black Panther powers. They’re not the right color, but besides that it seemed to be pretty clear.

I get the poetry of it, but in a practical sense, she’ll now be a felon, she won’t be able to practice law, she’ll be in a really bad way. There are other ways she could have taken responsibility for her bad behavior that wouldn’t destroy her livelihood. Why not just have her get caught for putting the hit out on

When I heard this yesterday I immediately googled “Is Fergie on meth again?” because few things could explain how weirdly proud she seemed of that performance.

My top ten:
