I was disappointed by the way this ended. I didn’t think it made sense that she be held responsible for Trent being an insane stalker. She saved Nathaniel, there were witnesses. She would easily have had a case. I get that she’s try to absolve herself of her “sins” and what not, but what a waste.

I agree. I also think the fight scenes were often cut too rapidly. This film deserved well edited and well choreographed fight scenes, and I was a little disappointed.

Ironic, given that (with the exception of Winter’s Bone) I think her earlier performances were weaker than her more recent performances.

When I saw Watchmen in the theater, I was sure that the sex scene was intentionally humorous—cheesy and self-aware. But the more I see Snyder’s work, the more I’m starting to doubt that charitable interpretation.

I was in high school when Daria was on, and I loved Jane. More than that, I strongly admired her and wanted to be more like her. Artistic, witty, dry, aloof, but not completely socially maladroit either—she was awesome.

It’s basically him talking about himself, people he’s worked with, and projects he’s done, with some bonus trashing of others on top of it.

I thought the first Resident Evil film was solid. It’s definitely one of the better films made based on video games, but that bar is pretty low. The thing that makes Resident Evil work is the setting. People vs. zombies plus a HAL like supercomputer in a giant underground office complex is just a great setup for a

Does he understand that directors don’t design posters?

I, for one, have not yet tired of Jimmy Fallon’s goofy musical impressions shtick.

I don’t always agree with Carrey (i.e. vaccines) but I agree with him on this and respect his choice.

Plantain chips are amazing dipped in guacamole.

My new favorite “chip” for hummus are pretzel chips. They’re basically very flat pretzels. Their salty, yeasty flavor is a good counterpoint for the tang of the hummus. That said, I disagree that pita chips don’t work with hummus, that’s just a lie.

I actually think it makes sense, now that I look back on her character. Sometimes attraction can be a confusing feeling, and it’s not unusual for latent gay or bisexual people to push away or have adversarial relationships with their same-sex peers. At first I was super confused by the choice to make her bi, but when

All right, I’ll go out on a limb here even though I know others disagree—I thought it was fine, but I don’t think it was his best film and I don’t even think it’s a great film, just good. I found it to be a series of great scenes cast adrift in a somewhat disorganized film. Eli Roth stands out to me in the film as

For me, any iteration of the Pepto Bismol song irritates the hell out of me, but this is probably my least favorite:

My bad, I missed that it was included at the end!

Also:

I mostly agree with this list, but I really didn’t care for Black Hat. I thought it was rather boring. Movies about hacking already have the deck stacked against them in terms of visual storytelling, so I went in prepared to be lenient on it, but it just did not win me over. Way too long, inconsistently paced. That

I do not wish for harm to come to other people. But sometimes, when all of this bullshit really gets on my nerves, I do take a small comfort in knowing that some day, probably fairly soon, I will most likely see him decompensate and pass away, and then see how the world reacts to that. It’s going to be interesting. I

You’re entitled to your opinion, but it’s in the minority. I think this last season was weaker than some of the earlier seasons, but I think it’s still hilarious.
