My last four vehicles have been Fords, so you’d think that I’d be a Ford guy. OTOH my first two vehicles were Chevys, and my first experience wrenching was changing out the water pump on that first one. Both Ford and Chevy seem like a mess right now. The answer of what’s next for me will be delayed until I have to

I think there were at least 3 f-bombs on live TV before one of the announcers apologized for them and said something about fixing the mic so it wouldn’t happen again. Hopefully the FCC won’t get after them too bad. Better to as forgiveness than permission?

So the Camry dent will be history?

Renault knows that with a majority position (with France) on the board, they can continue to screw Nissan for whatever Renault needs while forcing Nissan to cut R&D and expenses to levels that risk their long term survival.

Must be those chemtrails.

I’m sticking with my argument that autonomous cars should start with some Google-style cars that stay on low speed limit city streets and are used primarily in areas with large retirement communities. You’d get old people who have no business driving anymore a way to get to doctor’s appointments and the grocery store.

I’ve heard that a typical two pulley belt setup loses about 3%. It’s supposed to be less than a chain drive, which could explain why some bikes use belt drives.

Fine print: Not good on air tools, compressors, jacks, or anything else that would be useful to a gear-head.

Rockwell’s trying “way too hard” actually worked really well for his character in Galaxy Quest.

I’ll take “Stupid Letters Tom Receives” for $49.

There are dual camera dash cams. But they generally trigger based upon a g-sensor, and keying a car doesn’t move the car much. You’d almost have to have a camera set to record 24-7.

The last few times I’ve been through DFW they’ve made a point of announcing that anything electronic larger than a phone needs to be in a bin, just like a laptop. It wasn’t too many years ago that I asked if I needed to pull my tablet out of my bag and was told no. Things change.

I had a box of chocolates in my carry on that got flagged. Apparently to an x-ray machine chocolate appears similar to plastic explosives.

I’ve been diverted through the precheck line a couple of times, so the first time it was my first rodeo. I did have time to read the signs and figure out what to do. Maybe being able to read is optional for air travel?

I checked a carry-on bag on the final flight of 3 trips between 2 cities. The bag, purchased new not long before those trips, was shredded by the time it dropped onto the carousel. I know lost/damaged bags don’t happen often, but still. The only similar bag they offered as a replacement is also slightly larger, and I

Manufactured goods were simpler back then. The first P-51 Mustang (NA-73)went from concept to first test flight in just over 100 days. There are people who restore WWII fighter aircraft and they often don’t have much more equipment than a good auto repair/body shop would have. I don’t care how much “overhead” you cut

Don’t show that picture to David Tracy.

I agree it’s 99.99% chance that it’s the CR-V driver’s fault. But there’s a 0.01% chance that the street opened up for a ways, Tracy goes for it, and he’s there next to the CR-V before she can react. Driving a performance car is like riding a motorcycle; it’s tempting to play. Just think of all of the stupid shit

As cdoggyd suggested, he could have been traveling too fast.

That doesn’t address my issue. Stopping power is going to be better under most conditions if the regular tires are in front and space savers are in the back. ABS will adapt to grip that your tires have, on an individual wheel basis. That’s what ABS does.
