I’m 5 minutes from the Pentagon and we haven’t seen more than a drizzle since last night. And I’m not suggesting your downpour didn’t happen. That’s the way summer weather here works. Isolated microbursts. Which is why they should know better than to pull preemptive delays by now.

Oh, it’s not just that stop. The nation’s capital has a subway system that doesn’t even run to midnight anymore. 11:30 on weekdays, 1 on weekends (bars close at 2).

I assume the team has tried. Metro wouldn’t even extend hours for the playoffs last fall.

Update (10:15 p.m. ET): Now, more than three hours after the game was scheduled to begin, they’re finally getting things underway. Some delightful tidbits:

I wish. Since it was only a week, I never got a real patch. Just gauze and tape like a goober.

I did exactly this at third base during a practice scrimmage in little league. Except the catcher hit me square in the eye and I had to wear an eyepatch for a week.

Isn’t this sort of exactly how early access works? How could this have surprised anyone, let alone early access players? And why would they care? Isn’t the existing community the people who already bought in?

I was all excited to figure out whose barf each bullet point was, but most are too short to get a read. 1 and 4 are Ellie though, right?

That’s still a good dog, though.

He doesn’t just have ridiculously absurd political views. He actively and knowingly works to harm innocent people for profit, and is often successful. And he will continue to do so if he lives.

He did a particularly excellent job of selecting the game’s best names in a beautiful act of public service today:

Well shit, now I just feel bad. Sorry for assuming the worst. Follow and dismiss are right next to each other, which is a hassle on mobile. Forgive me for assuming you were just part of the GG/KiA pile-on. I dismissed this whole convo out of spite.

Takes a special kinda of insecure to take my comment as an attack, dismiss it, and then still need your response to the dismissed comment to be seen so badly that you reply to a different one.

That’s because it’s certain writers job to do so more often. Patricia is the Deputy Editor, Totilo’s second in command. She doesn’t produce daily content with her byline like she used to. You’ll also often see them at times like the weekend or at night, when only one person is working the site.

Been here for 10 years, but don’t realize that kotaku posts small blurbs with links just like this literally every day?

[Edit 10:19 AM ET:

Based on these comments, can “’Tics” become an official thing here, please. And maybe give the byline to Hamno every time.

Now playing

Since you said it, and it’s gonna haunt me for a week now:
