In my experience, once somebody starts putting the phrases like "my good sir" in their comments, you know you're dealing with a total idiot.

I use the Hola plug-in to watch U.K. TV online. (I've used it for the past two years to watch Downton Abbey when it airs on ITV.) Works very well!
But for this article to start off with the (incorrect) premise that "thug" is a racist term ... The only time I've heard "thug" in any term related to African Americans has been referring to the hip-hop culture. Aside from that, most people I know think of the word as the intended definition....people who beat up…
Except hockey goons are, by definition, guys hired to injure and hurt people. Like hit men, basically. So the description makes some logical sense in that context.
Hey Greg, I think pretty lady Kayla Knapp made a good point. This lonely, horny male thinks you should honor the sexy white lady's request to remove something she publicly published on Twitter because it makes her look bad, and probably she feels sad as a result. And the thought that she might be be feeling sad makes…
THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT BLOG POST IN THE HISTORY OF THE INTERNET
That may be true in a car search. But in a home search, the legal standard is higher.
leading the police car on a chase, and then ramming that same police car over and over again

Your comment is reasoned and sensible, but my point is that the media (TV, print, internet) has been absolutely swamping me with dozens and dozens of columns and news stories about this "Redskins controversy" thing during the past month, but absolutely none of them that I can see are doing this "very easy" thing…
I agree with most of what you say, except using the word "bigot" to label anyone who thinks the Annenburg survey is useful or relevant. Whatever legitimate issues the survey may have, that kind of broad-brush name-calling doesn't really help move a reasoned discussion of these issues forward. People opposed to a name…
No, "Canuck" is not just a synonym for "Canadian." It's much more informal, and sometimes considered mildly offensive.
And this phrase you used illustrate what I'm talking about: "People who are kind of Indians saying they're full Indians."
Well, now that you mention it, there is one other factor I've seen cited: Because it was phone-based, it under represents Native Americans who live on reservations, since (so this argument goes) many of them don't have phones in their homes. So there's that and the "self identification" issue.
No, all of the rebuttals I've seen zero in on "self-identification" as the problem with that poll, and not the other factors you mention. And nearly every one I've seen throws in the "Indian wannabe" term as part of their argument.
Wrong about what, exactly?
You seem to be missing the point of this writer's entire post. There is no "super easy way" for people who aren't Native Americans (including you, I assume) to tie the answer to this complex issue up in a neat little "truth bow" on behalf of Native people.
This is a great piece, and it's refreshing to see Deadspin (or any media outlet for that matter) finally publish a Native American's perspective on this. What's bugged me more than anything about all the recent coverage of this issue is that no columnist, reporter or publisher seemed the least bit interested in…
In Muschnick's defense, he probably didn't know that the mother is white. If he had, he certainly would have referred to this woman as a "mother."
