So, wait, the car only has to be driven between 28K and 69K miles before it is scrapped? That seems like a very minor hurdle to me. I guess battery replacements are also relevant; would love to know the average life expectancy of an EV battery.

Awesome.
The suburbs are hell already. I don’t mean fun, dense suburbs like the one I chose, but the sprawling awful ones. Anything developed a good while before WWII can be made livable in the future as well.
Same. I do all the little bits and then when I get to the grocery store, there are at least ten cars parked with their engine running so that they’ll stay cool (or warm in winter). Just got a letter from our local power company that we use the least electricity of any household in our town - the only thing we don’t do…
Just saw your comment on the cooler throwing - you’re being very reasonable for someone on the internet.
Do we really want drug dealers evading arrest and blasting down sidewalks? I am not condoning throwing a loaded cooler at someone’s head, but I am not going to cry over a drug dealer either. And yes, he had a rap sheet.
Easy, just get some solar panels and let it charge while you’re sleeping at night.
Yeah, our old house does not have 220 there, I will have to install a new electrical panel as we are already pushing things. Which I will probably have to do anyhow, so when that day comes I will make sure to set things up for charging.
I don’t want one of these either, but I don’t imagine the prints on the panoramic roofs will lead to any imprints - the sun has a tendency to move around quite a bit.
They could, but everyone is trying to imitate Tesla instead
Luckily I ride the LIRR to work, car is just for grocery shopping and weekend work like ferrying kids and camping.
Yeah, but I would rather buy another old JDM car for $7-8K and not have a car loan.
I will have to get a new electrical panel (something I will have to do in either case in the next few years); the house is from 1925 and the electrics are mainly of the same vintage. Already can’t use the toaster and the coffee maker at the same time, so not much scope for charging a car even though I imagine that…
Yep. I have a garage but I cannot afford the electrical upgrade and I certainly cannot afford a new car... we live in interesting times.
Another play for the galleries, like when North Korean dictators inspect shampoo factories and tell the workers how to screw on the caps better.
This is beyond lazy. “Worst Cars” books are given to us all by the kind grandma who is aware that we like cars but knows nothing about them; you guys didn’t even write this crappy listicle by yourselves.
Would’ve been cool. I have the more substantial shocks from a Honda Life installed in my Honda Today, as well as the newer, non-freon air conditioning unit, so sometimes it works.
I swear, there are now only Veblen goods left and nothing else.
Possibly, but I don’t think Putin is looking to cover anything up - quite the opposite. FWIW I just saw that Wagner Group themselves (or, more precisely, their aptly named news agency Grey Zone) stated that it was “shot down by air defenses.”
Eeep. This country keeps painting itself into corners.
