There are temp plates in NY, but getting them takes longer and requires more paperwork than just acquiring the proper tags.

Texas tags are all over NYC, too. It started as DMVs began shutting down at the beginning of the pandemic. I was a bit upset and wondering why these cars weren’t being stopped, and last month or so the police finally began cracking down.
Yes, delightfully so.
How and why did “ambition” equal “lock everyone up for as long as possible” for prosecutors? Are they really not supposed to apply any sort of judgement whatsoever but just go for max, like some sort of legal Dobermanns?
How long before these things no longer merit mention?
Just wait until you hear a French person pronounce “buggy”; you will want one even more.
A German diplomat I was acquainted with brought a Kangoo 4x4 and drove around White Plains, NY in it for a couple of years. He brought it with him when he received a new assignment, however.
Pretty sure the Opel Blazer was only ever offered in Indonesia. The photo is of an Indonesian market Blazer LN, one of countless trim levels available. This has a Holden-sourced 8-valve 2.2-liter four with 117hp...
I had totally forgotten about the Cefiro Wagon, that would be an awesome car to confuse people with.
Not sure, but I keep the little packets of silica gel that come with various items for these kinds of situations. Depends on the cookie, though; are they crunchy or chewy or is there some other characteristic that needs to be maintained?
This is the best thing I have seen all week. Even if I don’t make it (very slim chance, Christmas prep list is long enough already) I will read and re-read it.
The biggest disappointment I have ever had.
The Italian Job (didn’t see the remake). What an awful pile of uninteresting stereotypes, lazy-ass “plot”, and disinterested acting. I had high expectations after reading near-constant references in British motoring publications, but it was a flaming pile of garbage. Maybe I should watch it again but with the sound…
My boss had one as a rental and I had to drive it for an hour - the most miserable hour I have ever spent behind the wheel. I daily a nineties kei car and its NVH levels and ride are far superior to the vile EcoSport.
Inspired by Mercedes Streeter I had it brought in. Bought it in August and picked it up in port on Monday - with only fumes in the tank.
For shots with tons of people, a tripod can work magic. I am in teh greys, so I can’t upload any example pictures but it’s really fun to make all the meat disappear and only leave metal, glass, and plastic.
Arbitrary indeed. If I am buying steaks I always look for the ones near the sell-by date; they are better hung and taste a lot better. I might have to do a bit of dumpster diving myself.
I think the key here is “settle out of court” to avoid further expenses. I don’t think this is the main reason for food waste, but it certainly doesn’t help either.
Once in my youth, to aggravate my unemployed sister, I pulled out a one-dollar bill from a wad of twenties, said “yuk” and threw it in the trash. This is kind of the same.
It’s hardly the worst ever - there were drivers in the 80s who literally never made it out of pre-qualifying. Of course, they were probably better drivers than Nikita, they just happened to be behind the wheels in Colonis and Monteverdis and ATSs and the like.
