This episode was pretty much everything wrong with how the show had gone off the rails in one episode. It’s pretty much “oh, Dany is too stacked and Cersei is too weak, time to flip that!” The Episode.

One thing I find fascinating as I learn more about it is how much people have mentally neutered 60s-era civil rights and feminist movements as a way of dismissing modern movements continuing their work. People who reduce MLK down to “I have a dream” and “nonviolent protest” while ignoring that he was considered a

The thing is a lot of people have really goldfish attention spans so he just puts on an air of being affable for a while and people totally forget or move on to someone being a dick in the immediate sense. Then they act all blindsided when his jerk side comes through again.

Because people are like “oh, hey, I remember you liked this thing once and I think that means you have a particular opinion on this tangentially related thing happening right now.” Especially when it involves celebrities.

I’m still wondering how they got three stars for that wall of text nonsense that’s half-parroting Syndrome.

I’ve had a few people ask me what it’s been like finding out Depp was an abuser when “you were such a fan of his” and I’m like...I was never a fan of his. I liked Jack Sparrow and his Mad Hatter. I never gave a shit about Depp beyond that and now I only give a shit because the stuff he’s accused of sounds pretty awful

I remember getting really annoyed at him when someone posted this really long article praising and defending Kirk (and calling out people who reduce him down to a caricature who bangs a lot of women and shoots people) as a wonderful character and also discussing a theory called “Kirk Drift” where people misremember

Plus budget is more the House’s deal. On that end, Ryan’s in some hot water since the moderate GOP is sick of the Freedom Caucus jerking everyone else around and says they won’t sign onto a budget that doesn’t have Democrat input.

    An excellent point.

This is an excellent point and deserves more stars.

Even then, Vicksburg fell the DAY after Gettysburg so even then a change to Gettysburg might not do it. I think we’re looking at a change as far back as Antietam, at the very least.

Plus a lot of Jews and Roma HAVE complained about High Castle, it just got brushed over and people seem to have forgotten it now. But back when they did up that subway car I remember it being damn loud.

A common criticism I have seen leveled at it by Jews and Roma is “white people asking themselves ‘but what if it was about me’ with the Holocaust” which....yeah. People need to act like Jews and Roma haven’t criticized it, they have. Especially the advertising like doing up subway cars in Nazi look. Classy.

I remember when I was a kid and we moved from FL to CA for a year. Took us three days to cross TX, seeing nothing but a whole lot of nothing most of the way. Three days in the front of a moving truck with a first grader and a dog. My god my parents have nerves of steel.

    *applauds*

Well we’re really not there yet. At all. And a lot of people underestimate the clout a lot of anti-zoo orgs are getting. Some have even admitted their goal is to get rid of all captive big cats in the USA, despite the fact that they know it would hurt other conservation efforts for big cat species, and still get

Yep. Seriously, they would have to make a serious change happen during the war, probably something leading to Lincoln losing re-election to someone promising peace via treaty, and even then a lot of damage was done in the early years...

They outright kidnap peoples’ pets to kill them. Fuck em.

Okay, guess you want a lot more animals extinct. Cause, yeah, zoos to a shit ton of conservation and acting like good ones are only ever the exception is playing into the hands of the crowds who want to shut down all zoos and breeding programs forever.

Here’s the thing: who says how we protect tigers? Because are you talking to people who work with animals, animal welfare activists, animal rights activists (very different things), or just random concerned members of the public?
