The thing is a lot of people have really goldfish attention spans so he just puts on an air of being affable for a while and people totally forget or move on to someone being a dick in the immediate sense. Then they act all blindsided when his jerk side comes through again.

Even then, Vicksburg fell the DAY after Gettysburg so even then a change to Gettysburg might not do it. I think we’re looking at a change as far back as Antietam, at the very least.
