I can tell you, as a white person, there’s nothing we love better than to look at the past and talk about how much better we are than we were back then. Slavery movies do that very well. We can watch them then give ourselves a big circle jerk about how much better things are now, and that since we dont’t literally

YOU MEAN BLACK PEOPLE DO OTHER STUFF AND JUST LIKE LIVE THEIR LIVES AS BEST THEY CAN LIKE EVERYONE ELSE?

I’m tired of slave movies, too. We only get kudos when presenting a racial struggle. It’s frustrating. I loved the movie Creed— Ryan Coogler presented a thoughtful, nuanced, beautifully made picture, and the weakest thing about it was Sylvester Stallone as Rocky. I can’t stand blood sport . . . and yet I was

You know what I would love? More movies with black people just being people. Like dramas, character pieces, etc., with black people just being normal people, you know, like we are in real life. Not “black movies” (stay away Tyler Perry. Stay far, far away). Not slavery movies. Not Straight Outta Compton. Not Boyz in

you are absolutely right. I guess I just...*noticed* or something the poorest of us being manipulated the most and I’m just grouping all these people into a group I hate.

But... what about MEN’S feelings?

How I envy/fear/am perplexed by the 1% that has never heard of Donald Trump.

That darned Goldilocks is at it again.

“Islam is not a religion. It’s a violent blood cult, okay?” said 68-year-old veteran Hoyt Wood. “All they know is violence, that’s all they know.”

“White Americans founded this country,” said South Carolinian Patricia Saunders. “We are being pushed aside because of the President’s administration and the media.”

“I come home and someone’s occupying my house and they’re eating my food and then they’re taking the kids from my bed; they’re taking the money out of my pocket,” said Deena from South Carolina, probably speaking figuratively. “Why should we have to support someone else and then make our kids suffer, our families

I'm white and scared...scared of all these trump supporters.

All Kinja users can write their own blogs. The particular ones that I ended up looking at were related to someone creating parody/troll accounts and pretending to be one of the regular commenters.

Yeah, the problem with kinja is that there are a small number of commenters who are not grey and their comments dominate every article. After a while un-grey commenters start to become repetitive and the echo chamber effect happens. Which is a point you were making that I totally agree with.

I don’t really understand why Twitter/Facebook/Tumblr/Gawker/Etc. have to be so all or nothing for some people. All of these media (mediums?) have their benefits and uses. The key is not to wrap your ego up in them. Can’t you just pull back a little? Realize you can go a day or two without them, enjoy them for what

Can you stop with the misogyny please? Snark all you want but don’t be a tool.

I maintain that twitter really isn’t important unless you’re very famous (celebrity) or very powerful (politician, company, etc.). The rest of us are just wading around down in the muck.

Here’s a cute puppy gif.

I use twitter as a means to sports information, and that’s pretty much it. I follow local and national sports/news related figures. I don’t really tweet myself, as no one gives a shit about my opinion except those I talk to, and that is debatable anyway. I’m not sure why I comment on here as I think it’s really no

I enjoyed this, because I quit Twitter a year ago and haven’t looked back. It is true how it starts to govern your life, as if a missed tweet would have some sort of consequence to it.
