Miatas do that to my Caterham
Tell your husband I think it’s laughable that he uses the Twitter app and also has any expectation of location privacy. Also that he’s wrong about premium gas
“this dick-comparison machine:”
In the past year or two, I’ve seen some incredibly massive trucks that are orders of magnitude above what you’d see even 10 years ago. A few weeks back I was overtaken by a truck, some massive Ford dually, I honestly wasn’t paying much attention to what it was though. It was probably twice the height of my …
This actually reminds me of a dually I just saw this past week with oversized wheels/tires that stuck out beyond the rear flares. You’ve already got four wheels & tires back there that don’t fit within the vehicle from the factory, but you need 6 more inches on both sides???
Ground clearance on a base Silverado is only 8". It’s less than on a Subaru Crosstrek.
And to add to your trailer towing point, with a taller truck the center of gravity is increased.
At a former job of mine, we joked that within our work community there was a perfect inverse relationship between driving ability and vehicle size as we waved goodbye to someone driving a brand new Pathfinder that somehow already has the bumper ripped off on one side. Of course, being a Nissan, that my have been a…
Another thing is that the headlights on these new trucks seem to be exactly eye height for anyone in a standard sedan, hatch, etc. I drive and E46 and when newer trucks pass by, especially the latest GM trucks, they blind me in a way that most other vehicles do not.
Customers demand more ground clearance, so we raised the hood an extra foot. I get that ground clearance means raising hardware up which means lifting body lines but you go ahead and look me in the eye GM and tell me that the hood on the silverado 1500 and up is because of the 9 whole inches of ground clearance.
Penalties for moving violations should be proportional to vehicle weight. You need 4000+ lbs of truck to soothe your insecurities? Fine, you better be really really careful with that. There should also be a fat tax.
I’m on it!
I rented from one of those discount rental places on Maui. Blend in... drive a car like a local. They gave me an ancient Mazda Protege. It reeked of mold and when you went to fill the gas, cockroaches would swarm out of the filler neck area. But you know what? I’ll take that any day over the insane prices they charge…
Also: the “assisted living for millennials” party is over.
I hear it’s a pretty flat drive once you descend from California so it’s great for gas mileage!
You know, people could just save themselves the trouble of having to rent a car and just drive to Hawaii in their own.
Yeah but had they kept more cars, they could have gotten $200 a day on TWO Maximas
Big corps are masters at shooting themselves in the foot, then blame “the market” and give the CxOs golden parachutes.
Look, give them a break, they’ve tried nothing and are all out of ideas!
