I’ve always assumed it’s because they know Intelligence Quotient is literally just a score on one of several somewhat arbitrary tests. Sure, they’re designed to measure a conception of smart, but in some ways it’d be like being upset about the racialized rankings of lifetime Jeopardy prize winnings.
