Yeah, Taco John’s is solid, it’s been way too long since I’ve eaten there.

I’m saying I wouldn’t like it as much if it was crumbled strips of bacon. Having chunks of pork to bite into is one of the enjoyable parts of carbonara. If it was just crumbled bacon strips, you lose that, even if the rendered pork fat still is used in the sauce.
I take issue with the notion that NPD is treatable with therapy, at least in a practical sense. Most therapists would tell you that it isn’t. In order for therapy to work, the person would actually need to go to therapy and/or would actually need to believe that something was wrong with them that required therapy.…
I could see using bacon instead of guanciale, especially non-smoked bacon. I wouldn’t even complain (much) if it was smoked bacon..... as long as it was chopped/diced. I’ve seen “carbonara” with crumbled strips of bacon in it, and that’s what I was referring to as rage-inducing.
Sorry, I can’t bring myself to understand why this looks bad for the ACLU or Heard.
I went to a bar in LOUISVILLE FUCKING KENTUCKY and ordered a Manhattan, and the bartender had no idea how to make one. I’m in arguably the bourbon capital of the world, and this guy doesn’t know how to make one of the top 3 most famous bourbon drinks that exist.
I don’t remember. I never order boneless wings, but my wife doesn’t like bones, so she does sometimes.
I agree with you in principle, and that’s how I try to live my life.
I make it a point in life to try not to be a snob about anything, because snobs are annoying. I might think some things are trash, but I don’t trash other people’s tastes if they like those things.
It’s really odd, on the surface they act like they’re superior, but at the same time, they act just like someone with an inferiority complex would act.
Counterpoint - I’ve seen plenty of “boneless wings” that were ground chicken.
If you’re using cream instead of egg, it’s NOT carbonara. It might be fine (good, even), but it’s not carbonara.
For decades, the conservative response to the accusation that banning abortion takes away a woman’s choice and the right to control her own body has been: “she had a choice, when she decided to have sex and take the risk of pregnancy.” That’s why rape/incest exceptions have been pretty standard. The woman didn’t…
I could see eating a cake cold if it has regular frosting. But eating BUTTERCREAM frosting cold? You have to be crazy. Cold buttercream is hard and crumbly and coats your tongue and mouth in grease. It loses almost all of its flavor too. It’s honestly not that much different than I would imagine eating straight Crisco…
Uh.... not really. First, you have to get prime beef, which costs a pretty penny no matter where you get it from.
While I may be burned at the stake for this internet heresy, perhaps there is a middle ground (did I spell that correctly?) between “ketchup on everything” and “never ketchup on anything”?
The Abortion = Holocaust thing has been around since the ‘80s at least. No, this shouldn’t be shocking, even a little bit. If it is, it just means you haven’t been paying attention.
I tried a Garbage Plate at Nick Tahou’s the one and only time I was in Rochester. It was freaking delicious, but I was freaking drunk. I am told that they are also good when you are sober, but I can’t imagine it compares. Garbage Plates are one of the best drunk foods I have ever had, they hit all the right spots that…
I have heard a different New Coke conspiracy theory: New Coke was created to get regular Coke out of circulation so they could switch from cane sugar to corn syrup as the sweetener. If they just switched abruptly, people would have been able to taste the difference. By taking Coke away for a while, the change wasn’t…
I used to like Strawberry Newtons when I was a kid, like 35 years ago. I haven’t had one since then.
