I’ve never tried that one, I’ll have to.  I have no problem with *sweet* myself, although I don’t think it goes well as a flavor with most food.

I’m no sommelier (or cicerone for that matter), but it seems to me that tart + bubbly usually works pretty well with anything fatty.

I don’t usually drink much Off Color beer on its own, but Apex Predator and Troublesome are two of my absolute favorite beers to have with heavy meals.  They’re pretty much perfect.

I don’t like to put identifying info online, but it’s not far from Lombard. I’ve had good experiences with every other Mariano’s I’ve been to, including the South Loop and West Loop locations. It’s this particular one that is turrible.

Yes.  Yes it is.  It doesn’t even need milk.  It’s both the best breakfast cereal and the best trail mix.

I had a slice of apple pie for breakfast this morning. It was great, although I missed not having it warm a la mode (which is the best way to eat almost every pie).

How about “why is your grocery store the worst?”

Sounds really good, but not enough calories for me. Can’t we sneak some half and half in there?

That does sound delicious. There are breweries that put fruit in stouts, with mixed results. Goose Island was one of the first I’m aware of.  They don’t usually combine the fruit with chocolate, which is a shame.

Since most places don’t serve a chocolate martini with a splash of Chambord, I’ll have to continue explaining this one to the server I guess.

I like some sour beers. Slightly sour saisons are the ones I like the most. I’ve never had a barrel aged stout that tasted really that sour (other than infected ones).

The Plum version was pretty good, and unlike most fruit-added beers, it manages to have a lot of fruit flavor without much tartness.  I prefer the Cafe to either the Plum or regular though.

Speaking for myself, I’m 6'2" and plane seats are super small and uncomfortable. Standing up after all that time feels like heaven. Sometimes I’ll stand up even if I’m in a window seat just to get my butt off that seat.

I remember thinking during that craze that I remembered liking the Szechuan sauce back in the 90's, but I didn’t think it was that good, and was far behind the immortal Sweet & Sour. When they brought the Szechuan sauce back after the initial craze, I tried it just to confirm my memory - and yep, it just isn’t that

Well, I’m certainly shocked and amazed!

General Tso: In the world of questionable-quality fried chicken chunks coated in sticky-sweet glop, General Tso alone has the fortitude to bring spicy heat and umami flavor to the table. He is above reproach, especially from the likes of you.

I would have given you points for boldness!

Every single one of these people should be legally required to put “Participated in 16-pick Chinese Food draft and General Tso’s went undrafted - October 2019” on their resumes for the rest of their lives.

Is a pu pu platter even Chinese?  I always considered that Hawaiian / Polynesian.

How is it possible that you people picked 16 different Chinese-American takeout dishes, and nobody picked General Tso’s Chicken?
