Why do I need to trust either? I don’t know who this random person is on the internet. Why won’t you accept me trusting myself over anyone else? I can decide on my own who’s a threat. You can decide for yourself. Everyone else can decide for themselves.

My point is that I don’t trust people to decide what’s a ‘pretty easy’ line. I can’t think of a more subjective standard than that. And invariably, that line will creep over time, to whoever’s whim it suits that day.
