AVC always tosses in one sentence like this, or their favorite (“And yes, this whole article’s purpose for existing may never actually happen...”). Paraphrasing.

I don’t think Kumail is a comedy god, but he told the world’s greatest 9/11 joke in The Big Sick according to AVC. He isn’t Patton Oswalt...yet.

I feel like people have been gaslit into believing this movie is going to be tasteless because that narrative has been pushed HARD by AVC and Jezebel.

I guess making fictional, inanimate objects such as bags of blood the punchline is also punching down I guess.

Even a casual AVC reader (which is what I’m down to being) can see when AVC is “coming for” someone. QT is clearly in the crosshairs.

Cross’ stand up now is just angry bitching. And he’s not really bringing anything new to the table either. He’s treading the same territory everyone else does.
Naturally, Mr Show is still amazing. I even found W/Bob and David to be better than most reviews said.
