Exactly. I buried my pain under years of alcohol abuse and only telling 3 people about what happened to me. When a classmate brought charges on the man who did this to us, it started an 8 year process to see the trial happen. The constant “Trial is next month” followed by “It’s been moved” wore me out.

In a big plastic tarp, ringing doorbells asking for Paul Allen.

I wanna dress as Phillip Jeffries just so I can do the Cajun accent when I tell people “It’s slippery in here!”

I really, really hate the term “normalize”. As soon as I see it, it triggers me.

Watching AD again on Netflix (after seeing them on TV) and then on DVDs, it’s amazing how much gets repeated without the lack of commercials. You’ll get an act break and then when it comes back, you’ve got Ron Howard telling you what just happened.

Gwen thought Gypsy was a pointless, meandering slog though.

I wish I could block him like I did back in the Disqus days.

For those that don’t know, that was part of a stand up act. Not an actual opinion he has.

Yeah, the Rashomon tag seemed totally acceptable to me for the simple reason that it is used properly. I think people are a little quick on the “He said Whaaaa?” bandwagon. Am I saying he didn’t do it? No. I don’t know. I’m not taking sides.

Drinking beer through straws is only acceptable while in a Buffalo Stance.

Evan Rachel Wood’s description hits close to home. The part where you turn off your feelings. You don’t want to feel anything. I used to listen to Bjork’s “Play Dead” and think, yeah, that’s me, numbing myself to everything to stop the hurting.

Katie is no better than...WHAT??!!

As a side note, it’s disappointing Gilliam was a bully to her, being a fan of his work.

Since everything is awful all the time, let me just say Danette, your reviews are engaging and interesting.

I like how Larry has the time, and money, to show up in court and have a great time. He was clearly enjoying his time “in the well”.

Yeah, I had never heard the Cosby stuff until Hannibal’s joke got press on here. And I was one of those 18 year olds reading Entertainment Weekly cover to cover in the 90s.

I plan on dying soon that way I don’t become an “old, white man”. Luckily, I am, and never will be rich. So I’ve got that going for me.

Exactly. These jokes are just another example of Hollywood ignoring best/worst kept secrets because it’s “uncomfortable” and / or would hurt their careers.

Yes, I would agree that the internet simply amplifies it. I think the majority of the irritation on both sides of any argument is that you can’t tell tone, sarcasm, sincerity, etc. when someone writes something.

It does help. The more I do it, and the more people know - (I don’t go around in my daily life sharing, although due to testifying in the trial, I had to share my experience with most people in my life) the more it becomes who I am, without defining me.
