So happy to see another Betsey Johnson show. I went a bit crazy last year at one of her outlets that was closing (how could I pass up dresses for $45 a pop?) which was both awesome and depressing. It's good to see her line lives on.

That's an awesome story. You should definitely find that yearbook and look her up. I hope whatever she's doing with her life, she's still making art.

Seconding Frye boots, which was also Lori's footwear choice. Zombie apocalypse tested and approved!

I would be very much not happy if that happened. Color-coding on Twicca is the only way I can keep track of my Twitter feed.

This was an outlet store, so that might have made a difference. Everything was already 50% off and then an additional 70% off (which apparently went to 90% two days after I blew a bunch of money there...)

I may have gone on a huge shopping spree at the Betsey Johnson store that was closing in my parents' area. I won't be lacking in the dresses department for a while. Or skirts or corset jackets. But I've loved her stuff forever and it fits me so well that I just couldn't resist 85% off.

Well, this gives me fun flashbacks to high school when I was threatened with an ass kicking for eating in view of other people while skinny. As someone who isn't technically overweight but is quite out of shape and already very intimidated by gyms, this just makes me less inclined to ever exercise around other people.

My new shoes clearly show that I'm a Dalek fan.

A+ on the Serenity reference.

I had the exact same terror about eternity as a kid (and trying to think about it now still freaks me out a bit). But an eternity an heaven, hard to comprehend as it may be, is still a much preferred alternative to an eternity of nonexistence.

This makes me very happy.

Metrosexual Black Abe Lincoln sounds like he'd be BFFs with The Most Interesting Man in the World.

As mentioned, that's a hamster in the picture. That said, plain yogurt (in moderation) is excellent for hamsters as a treat or when they're ill. They love the stuff and I've seen just a bit perk up little old hamsters who looked like they were ready for the big wheel in the sky. A little extra protein in their diet is

I graduated from Western too. Last class under 1000.

You should be doing both, ideally. If your job has a 401K matching program, put in the maximum they will match. It's basically getting free money towards retirement.

I think it's more that the community/housing development of Weston and the city of Weston aren't quite the same thing. Either way, the city of Weston is still mostly residential, so a ban like that still makes sense.

Actually, the borders of the city of Weston expand beyond the planned community of Weston. The little housing development I lived in was swallowed up when Weston incorporated. So was Bonaventure, if I remember correctly.

I actually lived in Weston (once it became an actual city and wasn't Unincorporated Ft. Lauderdale) when I was in high school. The majority of it is gated housing communities along with a smattering of schools and higher-end strip malls with nicer chain restaurants/sports bars and the like. I can't actually think of

If you're talking Western High, that's in Davie.
