One person was in the passenger seat and the other in the back seat, so nobody was driving the car, ok that ended as expected. Darwin award.

Wait, wait, don’t start blaming the victim, the tree was just growing there.

“Now hear me out: Big Bang Theory but with Nascar.”

but... why?

Tax income does not equal actual income. That 58 cent per mile assumption is going to be way higher than actual expenses for your car because it’s based on averages for work vehicles, most of which are big trucks/vans, not a tiny cheap sonic. Your fuel cost is probably ~7 cents per mile. Your repairs at 6K over 50k

Is your lawyer the former mayor of New York?

That’s a driver failure.

What I think people are missing is, look how well autopilot was performing prior to plowing into the truck. This is a win - Elon.

The best.

Move the office, or, hire remote workers. A bunch of millenials in New York city that are completely disconnected from the automotive world. NYC is not a haven for enthusiasts. Also, hire Steph and Kristen back with salaries they can actually live on.

If Snap On was using me in their commercials they'd damn well better pay me. And the rich guy wasn't nearly as rich as Ford Motor Co.

I have a little bit of experience with this stuff as an IP lawyer who lived and worked in West LA at the time. If anyone thinks this story makes Brosnan look bad, that’s likely the result of not understanding how this stuff works.

Funny, I think a lot of Jalopnik articles are bitchy lately. I know there’s not much new and good car stuff around, but they seem to be looking for anything to complain about.

Man, we’ve really gotten to a strange place where a site that has traditionally been extremely pro labor (and an actor holding out for compensation he felt he was contractually owed is definitely labor holding out against management, even if there are more 0's on the end than your average factory line worker’s

I have conflicted feelings. On the one hand Brosnan comes across as a whiny little bitch, expecting a free car. On the other hand, he is providing a service, and this is effectively a salary negotiation. He wanted his compensation, in part, to include an Aston Martin Vanquish.

No. This should be the norm. He is ultimately responsible for whatever BS the company is involved in, so his first priority should be making sure that he calls out any BS. I’m not going to say this guy is a saint, because I don’t know much about him at all, but he did it right in this case, and should absolutely be

I think you’re framing this irresponsibly. It’s more like he got the job, was like hey something’s up, talked to the correct authorities and got the company to fix it, and now that it’s obviously awkward he’s going to go get a new job.

Because you only have to spend 60k to get a C8?

I guess GM has a long memory, after Patrick’s Camaro incident.
