Missed chance: No stickers on the bottom of the race cars.
Agreed, this is possibly the stupidest article I’ve read on this site. Yes, let me ignore my regard for my own life by driving back north in a monsoon with a massive oil leak coating my drive wheel. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
CVT: Nissan still sucks.
Most ICEVs don’t have 500 miles of range on one tank, and most people aren’t driving that far in one trip very often.
New York released some telling data on maintenance costs. https://interestingengineering.com/nyc-shows-how-electric-vehicle-fleets-can-create-dramatic-savings
“The ICE car dominates because it is ultimately still the best. It’s got nothing to do with perspective.”
Change “the best” to “the most convenient” (though one could argue that trains are much more convenient, as one could read a book while traveling, or work, or dream/sleep). Once you factor in environmental costs -…
Track Designers: We don’t want the drivers to cut the corners, so we added some pretty large speed bumps that should prevent them from cutting
You may want to look at it from a different perspective, and if you do, you might just change your mind.
IMO, if you can’t charge your EV every day while it’s parked, you shouldn’t buy one.
Range anxiety has nothing to do with what people actually need, and everything to do with what they think they need. No, 200 miles isn’t going to cut it, unless charging can be drastically speed up, and really, fast easy to find charging stations are the only thing that can lead to mass adoption of electric cars.
The union doesn't give a shit about reality
Yeah, the way Jalopnik completely ignored the launch of Chevy's new halo sports car....what the hell is their problem?
Well most people aren’t wandering all over our vast opens paces, they are driving to work and home. Driving 300 miles is about the limit for me before I’ll fly instead, and a 30 minute break to charge halfway there is far from a dealbreaker.
That’s what I mean, from GM’s view they are losing money every day but they will “save” some of that through profit losses. Basically them losing money every day means they’ll have to pay out less profit sharing, thus negating some of their loss. The opposite is true for the UAW worker, not only are they not making…
Am I the only one that thinks it’s crazy that the UAW can dictate whether or not their members can get a secondary source of income?
I’m sorry, than you simply need to find a better job. Economy is booming, if you have some marketable skills you can afford this car. if you can’t afford an entry level car like this, who you gonna afford ... dunno... some basic healthcare?
But that’s the problem. The market signs are pointing to them neither growing, nor turning profitable. It’s fine for a company to burn capital when they’re growing. You’re effectively buying market share with money, in the hopes that once you have that market you can leverage it for a margin advantage either through…
