I blame it on Rio.
I blame it on Rio.
Porsche Taycan’s P.R. Manager told me ... Tesla has helped Porsche more than it hurt it.
No. There is no truth to that. It has been rebutted by journalists.
Well given that Teslas don’t have issues with battery cooling, even on the track, that is BS. On the Model S, the motors and inverters overheated. On the Model 3, nothing does.
It’s been confirmed by the press that it was the full-length track. The shorter track is only for tourists, not industry sessions.
Good in theory, but in practice they are able to only charge at 270kw. A 2017+ Tesla Model 3 can charge at 250kw.
Given that seems to be the only way that a Taycan can lap the Tesla out there, it was a smart move.
That this is bad for Tesla is a typical first reaction. But it just validates the market for this type of vehicle. Amazon’s competitors won’t want to buy from Rivian if they can help it, and whoever comes out with a viable alternative will also o very well.
Well sure.
All true, but note that your original post started with “I think Tesla is pretty sure they can’t beat the Taycan’s time.” And I only gave them a 50-50 shot.
If by “their place” you mean not stealing funds, then yes.
You are assuming that only California would secede. The entire west coast would join them, as would the east coast north of Virginia.
Decades? Really?
That’ll cost 20 seconds of time.
You had a very thoughtful post, but it didn’t age well.
Those Germans are notorious for being rule followers...
Tesla really should be thought of as a few different entities:
How so? Throughout the ‘Golden Age’ of America, circa 1950- 1980, a whole generation of Americans were able to live a dignified life and build a middle class society on account of this kind of manufacturing jobs.
Turbos require premium. Duh!
The 2012 generation of the Model S overheats when driven hard. The 2017 Model 3 doesn’t overheat.
