You missed the point completely. It’s not relevant because it is discussed on a forum site. It’s relevant because it could be true, and if so which would be big news in the auto industry . Finding the truth is what real journalists do.

Somewhere along the way into adulthood you should have realized that context matters. If I started talking about income from post number one, you would have a point. I am specifically referring to posters who have owned multiple Porsches. One of them has been a Porsche owner for 40 years. Another buys a new 911 every few years but uses the Macan as his daily driver.

That “production constraint” assumes that those deposits will convert into orders. From the above post, 9 people in a row decided to pass. Yes, it’s only a single anecdote, but that’s why it’s worth checking out. 

Many of the long time MacanForum members have owned multiple Porsches, including 911s and Panameras. Even they are complaining about the price premium.

Yep, that is also mentioned on the forum, that the original price was supposed to be roughly in line with a Tesla.

Uh no. You anti- Tesla folks are just as silly as the Tesla fanboys.

I expect the reason is pretty simple. Tesla thinks it can beat the Taycan time while rubbing it in that they were carrying 100 lbs they didn’t need to.

But did it really make the situation worse?

No doubt that Elon got ahead of his skis. But he didn’t actually say that they were going to set a lap record at the ‘Ring. Everyone just extrapolated that from this quote, which simply said that the Model S was going to be at the ‘Ring.

The 2012 Model S overheated badly.
