There is an over-reliance on technology, especially when it comes to navigating. I’m just as guilty as most of you when it comes to simply plugging my destination into my phone and blindly following the directions.

Well, considering how the airline industry works... that’s not saying much.

Several of these planes have been sitting for so long that the airline they were built for no longer exists.

The little kid in me that played countless rounds of Rush Hour and similar piece-shifting puzzle games is screaming in both delight and terror right now.

That is almost certainly why no one will comment. All the people/orgs listed are either parties or potential witnesses, and I would expect that all of them have been put on notice that they could be subpoenaed to testify if they haven’t been already.

Have you checked to see if they’re legally barred from discussing the issue while the lawsuit is ongoing? This isn’t a criticism, I’m legitimately curious.

Pedantic fact: the current VC-25s used for as Air Force One are not 747-400s but are 747-200s upgrades to the -400’s avionics and engines. Note the size of the hump on top - much smaller than the -400.
