I just showed this article to the 20 something year old software engineer who works for me and he asked who Charlie Brown and Snoopy were.

I have not assigned blame to anyone, I pointed out if the lady checked her blind spot she couldn’t have even seen the Bugatti, which does not absolve her if indeed it was a two lane turning situation. Situational awareness is the responsibility of every driver.
I have a 3 lane left on my daily commute, and I have to…
That’s why my driver’s philosophy is that it’s always better to miss your turn or turn on the wrong road once it’s too late to safely correct yourself. Sure, you might be a few minutes late to your appointment or whatever. You know what will REALLY make you late? Causing a car accident.
Not a double right turn.
That’s 42nd turning right into 10th, which is definitely not a double turn lane.
That’s what those wide angle mirrors are for. Even so, it’s why I never drive alongside any vehicle and will hang back starting from traffic lights.
With all the debate here on who is at fault, I’m surprised nobody’s updated this. Morgan was apparently lucky, there was a cop on the corner who witnessed the accident and said it was not his fault.
Really, the wreck looks pretty minor.
My father in law has a CR-V. Can confirm. The only thing that makes him seem like a normal driver is that they live in a retirement community and everyone else there is 1000 years old and they drive like complete lunatics. I’m never more cautious than when I drive my car through that place..
Like I said, there is nothing there to indicate a double turn lane. Not even a hint of an arrow or anything that you could easily see at least a part of even with the cars there.
Because 42nd and 10th is a two lane, two way road.
Oh it get’s better too.
That’s the kicker though. IF she’s in a turn lane. My guess is that neither of them were and that the only way you can turn right is in Tracy’s lane. She was driving, realized too late that she needed to turn right at that intersection, wasn’t in the right hand lane, and just turned without looking. Tracy was trying…
Cop-were you driving the Honda?
nope CR-V fault!
Here’s the part of this whole thing that has me going nuts. The lady was quoted as saying, “We are both turning right — people are still crossing,” she said. “So what happened is we’re both turning right. But I know he hit me because I was already [turning]. I was there, he was the one who hit me!”

Front end of my BRZ got smashed in by a CR-V driver pulling onto the street immediately as I was passing through.
That’s not a parking lane. She was literally making a right hand turn from the left lane. This has been confirmed.
My first car (RIP Curtis the S13) was totaled because of an inept CRV driver. I put them right behind Pruis drivers for the most clueless drivers out there.
