I still say bad dodge job. There are a bunch of the images floating around that are clearly adjusted from the original print (you can find quite a few variations on tone on the one image over the past day in Google— including one agency running it backwards…). If there were a light source coming from below (which

CFMI are probably shitting bricks right now and I bet their offices are full panic stations.

Living “somewhere in the middle” of the US, I share your hyperbole. There’s the L in Chicago, and a little tram-thing in Minneapolis… I hear there’s an Amtrak somewhere in the middle somewhere, but it’s not close enough for us to ever have even heard about it (I think it’s a couple states south??)

…that’s where I generally sit, and even on that side… Um… well crap… (and yeah, I know “the odds” and everything but, gah… )

That absolutely sucks. I’ve managed to finally get a lot better, but still do incredibly focused deep breathing from the second the plane starts backing up, and don’t take my eyes away from out the window until, well, somewhere in the ascent when my head feels better (as well as Mucinex starting a couple days prior,

Actually, it looks like a really bad dodge job when it was printed originally (I’m a photographer… what makes it look completely like they dodged her face to compensate for the really bright sky is that there’s also the parts right around her head, but near aircraft, that are also blown out… Basically the trouble in

Capt Carlos Dardano only had one eye???? Daaaaamn… (I’m most blown away because I was told jokingly by an Opthamologist when I was about 18 that I could be anything I wanted— except a pilot… because I apparently don’t really have any depth perception. I gotta think with just one eye it’d *have* to be less than me). Of

Or if you want to get thrown back into the seat… (at my first autoX I panicked slightly with all the cones and stalled our WRX (I only get to drive it occasionally, it’s the husband’s daily). It was on a tight corner towards the end (forgot to downshift…), so I quickly started it up, still in 2nd, and floored it. I

Yup. That’s the only time I start in 2nd. Not all the time, but some conditions make it a lot easier to get moving without sliding!

My dad’s old Jeep was that way. Was probably helpful for when I drive our ‘05 WRX as, if it hasn’t warmed up enough in the winter, it *hates* going down into first as you go to stop— until you’ve fully stopped (or double clutched it)

I accidentally took off in 3rd once… I hadn’t been driving a manual long or very often at all, and forgot to downshift to 1st when I stopped, so didn’t really think about it as the stick was up there. When you get an opening, start to go, lag waaaay down as you sloooowly enter your opening before the cars come at you,

No kidding— the whole, “Did you say someone went out?!? Never mind— we’ll sort it out when you land” :D

I watched a guy actually back out of the northbound onramp just the other day. Thankfully I was headed to the southbound, which apparently he actually wanted as he pulled up behind me at the light… (though I can’t confirm he didn’t do it again as I was busy trying to merge onto an interstate highway doing about 40

We’ll have to try those out (or whatever research comes up with when ours finally wear enough). The ones that came with our ‘15 .blue… well, I learned to drive from my dad and have a bit of a lead foot and it’s often rather tough to not peal out…. It’d be nice to get a less slippy launch.

I grew up in a mostly AMC household, later Pontiac (we also had the CJ5 and Metropolitan), as my dad worked on cars either as his job or on the side for extra money (he died in the early 90s). He *hated* Ford, and, honestly, from his perspective, I could see why— they were an absolute mess under the hood. When I met

But flame spurts!!! I don’t know why, but I’ve always wanted a car that did that… though you do bring up the potential complication of severe hearing loss…

There are Outbacks that come to ours and they do fine. It generally depends on the site conditions as to how well any particular car type does. Some parts of the country apparently have somewhat level, solid courses. I showed some photos of our car from one of ours to a couple folks in the NW (who actually rally

With an unintentionally ironic double-posting…

Probably not *stage* rally, but they hold up well for SCCA RallyX events! (they double as the WRX’s winters. They used to be the BRZ’s winters, until we saw them on the WRX, and then had to buy another set so the BRZ could go out in the snow :P )

That RSX Type S was one of the most fun cars I ever test drove… I ended up getting the ‘07 TSX the next year though (had to be able to fit my hockey bag… and preferably not in the cabin…)
