It gets used a lot here as the mid-grade has the ethanol in it, and thus gets subsidized by the state and is thus the cheapest. (all three of ours are on premium though)

What I want to know is who the heck would base a plane out of Arizona that can only handle up to 118°?? I grew up in Arizona (in an area much hotter than Phoenix). Yeah, 120° isn’t exactly old news (my first 120° there wasn’t until my 20s), but with that tarmac, it doesn’t take near that to far surpass those temps…

:D The boat/ship thing was, possibly, my dad’s biggest pet peeve. And both me and my mom kept calling them boats. :P His arguments got a little more complicated when he was with MSC as, well, some of those were some small boats… (the Knorr was only 279') (awww… just saw the Knorr was retired, my dad got his

I came to foxtrotalpha specifically to find out how the heck this could have happened as I can’t imagine how a destroyer and a merchant ship could not see* each other… looks like it’s baffling those who actually know Naval stuff too… And I really hope the 7 missing didn’t get sealed up in the flooded rooms… Nor washed

Whenever I see Spoon, I always hear it as “SPOOOOOON!!!!!” I <3 the Tick. :)

I’m a firm believer that 90% of the people asking for more power in this chassis are just mediocre drivers.

I’d be ok with a little more torque, I like torque… Though, as it is, I keep saying we need way better tires as I have a hard time not chirping (or flat peeling out…) at lights as is just because of how I learned to drive (or from whom more particularly… I blame my dad :P ).

Don’t forget the cost of moving everything around under the hood… Sure, there’s space in there (oh, such lovely space compared to our WRX…) but to do a factory installed turbo, they’re going to end up tweaking stuff around, and having to add additional cooling methods to keep it from melting. Probably having to set it

Yup. Not that I want a turbo in it (it’s too much fun w/out one— and yes, I’ve not only actually driven one, we own one, so I’ve driven one a lot…) but if you put one in there the price would shoot up. Then, you’d still have people whining about power I’m sure (many of whom haven’t even actually driven one) AND you’d

Just finished a really depressing TV episode on Netflix, and now I’m actually laughing thanks to your comment. Thanks for that— I can try and go to sleep now! :D <snicker> (really, maybe it’s that I’m tired, but that was damn funny…)

That horrendous version is on all the time on Hulu… that freakin’ douche in skinny jeans, a cardigan and a man-bun and his freakin’ “mama jama” crap… Chevy was never particular high on my list, but knowing that is their target audience (or worse, people who *like* or “relate to” that guy)… wtf…

That’s basically what I was just thinking— massively over-compensating for a very, very, very small thing…

My husband, surprisingly, went “that’s not the Edge?” I was a combo of confused/impressed (we’re not Ford people) until we got towards the bottom of the article and he realized that he was thinking of the Flex, thinking its boxy-self was the Edge… (so I guess he gets a partial point?)

The push could make sense, as the squished truck (glad the driver survived!) is a bit un-straight. It also got hit from behind at some point… Talk about something that could really use more context or a video!

I’ve seen those transported in the US (they take a while to pass on the highway… not to mention their support vehicles) and I’m completely confused as to how that incident even happened… Though I just looked at the related “wind turbine blade drivers” piece and am even more weirded out. Though, in the US, you wouldn’t

I was remarking something similar today as I was bored out of my mind doing 65 on fairly clear stretches in my car that actually likes to cruise at 90 (and has very good tires, and can still get around 30mpg doing so). Kind of an, “Actually officer, I CAN do ___ very easily and safely. You just may not want me to…”

I happened to do that drive *again* today… and, yeah, there are hills (the whole drive blurs in my head). Hills that I get to sit there waiting for a truck to attempt to pass another truck on, until I get to the next hill and wait for another truck… and so straight it’s ridiculous… I suppose if you could get rid of

*northern* Iowa has some hills, but 80 is pretty much as flat as the rest of the midwest… and it blends in— Ohio-Indiana-Iowa (I can only tell them apart by the river and certain gas station options…) with a bit more dirt when you hit Nebraska and into that NE part of Colorado…

OK… that was actually funny, from a completely unintentional remark… :P

I’ve done several west-eastern midwest trips and I think my least favorite is I80 between Iowa City and Des Moines… There’s NOTHING… and especially at night as there’s no reflectors, no side markers, no light, no real enough divider between the two lanes each way such that you could even use your brights, not that you
