I used to think the Phx to Yuma drive was the worst, but as I often end up doing it late at night, it’s kinda cool as the reflectors make it seem like you’re on a runway or something. :P That and the Maricopa Shortcut since it’s paved so well… (that stretch falls among my favorite— and I’m old enough to remember it

There’s a section of I35 headed north to Minnesota that has determined we won’t take the WRX there again… It hits about perfect resonance or something— just the perfect wheel length ratio to joint— and wow… Yeah… And changing speed doesn’t help (though it does get us past it quicker). We haven’t had to actually pull

All I remember about driving that route through (and then back again) Pennsylvania is all the road kill… I’ll mark that drive as the most disgusting as I’ve never seen such an unintentionally red highway… :x

Ugh… I still bash a huge dealership near here purely because of the one salesman we had… When we were finally looking for mine, because of various hockey injuries I’ve had that temporarily removed the usage of a random limb, I needed an auto for mine, but I still wanted something good (so not a sportscar story).

My dad taught me all the basics, and I had clues about a bunch more as I’d help him while he rebuilt or fixed other people’s cars. VERY helpful knowledge! And can save a LOT of money for the simple things! I still recall the look of awe from a bunch of guy friends I was giving a ride home to when I had my grandma’s

Overtorqued at the dealer… Upper strength aside, I just didn’t weigh quite enough to get some of them loose, so I’ve perfected the bounce. :P (gotta make sure you have the angle and balance right on the bar so you don’t hurt the lugs/bar/wheel, of course…)

I’ve only usually been the assistant (my dad rebuilt cars, I handed him all the stuff, and I’m the 2nd set of hands for our slowly disintegrating-into-a-rebuilt-WRX that is my husband’s DD, speaking of, we’re doing the now-leaking radiator tomorrow and hopefully the fender liner— which ran off during a RallX), but I

Drat… I’m now thinking about my steering wheel, and how the leather wrap would likely make for a rather satisfying gnaw… Likely more tasty than a Cavalier wheel as it’s an Acura, but still…

I have actually stripped wires with my teeth… somehow they knew where to stop and not cut the wires. (and don’t tell my dentist, she freaks out about my dental/jaw strength stories…)

Ooh, the corner edges of a leather seat— quite chewy!! I bet some radio knobs would be good too, but that would be *highly* variable… Definitely not a sun visor as, blech… that’d be like licking a paper towel :x Possibly on the pass through between the back seat too, that’s kinda squishy. Though any cables would be

Having an Acura, I had quite a laugh when I got to that part. :D

Mine’s more sentimental as I wish like hell I would have fought harder to try and keep my dad’s Jeep after he died… He had rebuilt it from the ground up, adding things he though the Willy should have had (like a steering column). He had his patented bumper on there (you could run into a wall and not damage anything—

We had a Saturn back when you regularly got asked, “How do you like your Saturn?” It was a pretty decent car, and though by 175k it was most definitely ready to be traded in, it was a car with a lot of potential. We didn’t even consider a new Saturn though, as all that potential got sucked right out of it when GM

At least on those cars I’m sure all the obnoxious dinging noises have been completely removed… so it was just a “distraction” and not a “I’ll just drive the car into this tree and maybe it’ll shut up the damn dinging” things

My cousin doesn’t ride a motorcycle, but this would be great for her as she keeps falling and breaking things… (her 2nd collarbone not long ago…) This come in a boot too? She keeps breaking ankles too…

These cars are bought by people too old to drive them. They have the experience and the money but watch a 45 year old climb out of one. It’s a meme, right there.

I’d give Allstate a pass if numerous of my other friends parent’s weren’t getting a “good student” type discount with their insurances while driving a parent’s car… (again, straight As, National Honor Society, Honor Roll, top 4% of my class, no absences, got an A in Driver’s Ed…). My grudge still stands.

That’s basically what I had. I got to *borrow* ONE of my parent’s cars (we had 5… my dad worked on cars so had a collection… they let me drive the green Gremlin…). They also forbid me from having anybody else in the car w/out their explicit permission… But, hey… I didn’t want to ride the bus w/ freshmen my senior

I very much miss the “old days” of XM with Fred, Lucy and Ethel! I still have “XM” though I’ve found myself screaming “SHUT UP!!” at the radio since the merger as their DJs blather on occasionally… Which is nothing like obnoxious morning shows, but still…

So it’s surpassed the previous Top Gear? Which only really got it’s foothold on the world due to everybody’s torrents of it?
