This is true.
This is true.
Your move, Mahk.
2JZ in a Mustang?
Yup. One could even argue that it’s more “authentic” than a V8, since the first Mustangs had straight sixes back in ‘64.
Finally, a good justification for my longtime habitual use of “y’all”, despite not being from the the South.
Oh god, is this going to be the new KITT?
Nothing at all. They’re just riding on the Cadillac name.
This is one of the biggest reasons I refuse to even consider buying a GM car (aside from the terrible build quality and universally hideous styling, with the lone exception of the C7 Corvette).
The electric one is only a concept at this point, so they’re not really in the same category yet. That said, I’m sure quite a few people will be inspired to wait on the XT6 and get the electric one when it comes out, and then buy a Jag, Tesla or BMW instead when GM inevitably screws it up.
It’s horrendously ugly, but I’m glad they’re making it. More EVs is always a good thing. I’m just grateful that there’s a wide enough selection now that it being horrendously ugly is a legitimate complaint, and there are alternatives.
I have all 4 seasons on DVD. Looks like I’ve got a good excuse to watch them all again.
I honestly think the 05-09 S197 might be my favorite Mustang of all time. I love the old ones, obviously, but driving a ‘60s car comes with a whole raft of other cons, and you really have to be in love with it for it to be worthwhile. An S197 has enough retro styling to keep some of the old Mustang charm without going…
Didn’t he still have Turbo Boost in Season 4? For some reason I remember Turbo Boost and SPM being used at the same time, but I might have dreamed that.
This was the first thing I thought of as well. KITT couldn’t fly, but he could certainly jump over things. If he hit Turbo Boost while stationary, he might have been able to hover for 10 seconds as well.
Are S197 Mustangs old enough to be cool yet?
Can I buy one? I’d like to buy one. Today.
Can we end the rumor once and for all that Bumblebee was “unnecessarily sexy”? I’ve seen it twice now, and none of the scenes mentioned in those tweets had anything remotely sexual about them.
The ICE has an unfair advantage in that comparison, though, because it has multiple gear ratios and can stay in its torque band all the way to 160 and beyond, while the Tesla is essentially stuck in first gear. Electric motor torque starts out at its peak and stays at its peak for a long time, but it usually starts to…
Excellent point! It’s true - HP numbers are largely useless when comparing ICEs to EVs.
40-50k is actually not half bad for that much power and range. I’ll be watching this one with interest.
