Wow I had to go to Porsche’s website and study it really closely, as they beautifully crafted that rear diffuser, and even then I thought I was seeing some exhaust piping....but you are right. It’s a clever rear design. Ok, +1 Porsche on that.

Shhhh,
If you aren’t a die-hard represented labor supporter you’re evil here apparently.
It’s because the driven wheels are pretty unloaded. Not only are there more contact patches to share the load, the funky off angle nature of that incline is putting more pressure on the undriven axle.
so important note here: apparently this run might have been done with part of the track skipped as the industry pool only runs 11.9 miles compared to the 12.9 miles the Taycan ran (which isn’t available for Tesla until September 21st at the earliest) according to comments on a few other sites regarding this news.…
I consider us a news and opinion website, with stories that run the gamut from 6,000 word investigative pieces to other stuff. We do a mix of original reporting, aggregation and commentary here, often in the same stories. You are welcome to agree or disagree with what we do and say in the comments.
This means exactly nothing right now. Unless, Tesla says they’re going to sell the exact specification that ran at the ‘ring. Why should we care?
Right now there running a highly modified prototype, with specific mods for the ‘ring. While trying to beat a car that set a lap, in production spec, and will be going on…
No way this happened as reported. Musk would not, could not, keep this quiet. Even if it was unofficial.
Honestly, if people are actually productive and UAW didn’t make it so hard to fire shitty employees, they can probably do with like 80-90% of their work force just from pure efficiency gains.
“There’s no shortage of automakers doing shady shit all the time.”
I’ve called other manufacturers out for the same thing. Musk just puts it out there more than pretty much everyone else
I look at this the other way ‘round. Let’s say they do get a time that matches or just edges out the Taycan.
This might have applied to other Jalopnik or GMG writers but Robb Holland is more qualified to speak on this issue, plus his take is quite reasonable.
Why is it when someone criticizes Tesla, it's always "you just hate Tesla, you oil sellout"? There is nothing wrong with criticizing a company. Companies improve solely because someone is critical of it.
We......get it......you’re an idiot. Now if only you focused all your Jalopnik hate on reading the actual article, you could put that energy towards understanding what it’s about. Your comments would be so much better.
Did you actually read the first sentence or just the headline?
Thats the record they should go for.
I agree with everything you’ve said.
