It’s not as easy as just saying “hey, slap that infotainment in to the XXX”.

Sensors, actuators, cameras, etc. all have to be integrated. It can really only be done when an entirely new platform (not even new generation of a model) is being released.

I wonder if it’s disheartening to realize at this point in one’s career that you’re essentially a paid troll? You gotta kinda feel bad for the guy...

It also could be that most of the world isn’t nearly as fucked as the US is right now...Specifically China, the worlds second largest consumer of oil.

Okay, but can Uber/Lyft now also lock them out after 8hrs a day/40hrs a week so they don’t have to pay overtime? And is this only while driving or do they have to pay for as long as the driver is logged in to the app?

You do realize that all these concept design sketch’s are wildly exaggerated in their proportions right? Like this has been going on for, uh, half a century or so?

It’s almost like the Jalopnik editorial direction has become: bitch, whine and moan. And oh yeah, throw in some cuss words to seem edgy.

If you can read through your first paragraph and still believe that isn’t confusing then this is a pointless discussion because you are disillusion.

Did you really just suggest that BMW’s cluster fuck of M is not confusing?

Them not doing things the way the Germans do doesn’t mean their wrong...besides, people need to get over the fact that V is just a trim level. Everyone was fine with V-Sport being a trim but now that they’ve dropped the “sport” part of it everyone is loosing their shit. The “fast one” is now the Blackwing (or will be

When Caddy announced the shift in naming strategy I both understood why (the Germans are all diluting their performance monikers for profit so why not Caddy?) and was also somewhat disappointing. But those thoughts and feelings last as long a deep sigh and an eye roll....then I moved on.

Pass legislation that allocates 100% of all traffic fines and penalties to victim services and watch how fast cops throw out their ticket books.

You want to know the biggest issue with Cops? Unions.

Shh...the message here is cops are bad. Please don't use facts and rational thought to change the subject.

Exactly. Jeep’s spent that time perfecting their profitability from the Wrangler focusing on how to sell the least amount of kit for the highest possible margin. Evidenced by all the things you noted.

“You had it exactly right, this blows the Raptor away in every respect.”

This blows the Raptor away in one, irrelevant way, HP.

FIFY

“Not sure how that’s relevant.”

Manufacturing jobs don’t require VDI or RDS. They also can’t work from home.

I’ve been doing this for 20+ years now....call centres and coding go offshore, but not much else.

The Director of Marketing or Manger of HR is never going to be outsourced to India or Philippines. It just isn’t.

These are jobs that still require some face to face presence. Even if the day to day is done from home.

Offshoring work is specific to certain industries and tasks.

I work for a VAR that sells Dell, HPE, Cisco, NetApp, VMware, etc. and have seen a massive investment in IT infrastructure to enable working from home.
