Was posting to say that Philips came out with 21:9 sets in 2009, but I see that they're still not available in the US. Apparently at CES 2011 Philips announced they'd be available in the US in late 2011, but I haven't found that they're actually for sale here.
This is incredibly frustrating and disappointing.
I'm sure it'll be out eventually, but until then there's Iris: [www.macstories.net]
Well, since the ISS altitude is only 230 miles above earth, wide angle lenses are as important as the long telephotos...so while the lenses don't LOOK as impressive, they're still sweet pieces of glass.
Seems it works NOW, but didn't work earlier today after I upgraded to 2.5.0. Earlier when I upgraded, there was no "Share to Timeline" option.
In 5 years, the sensors will be insignificant. The lenses will not.
What glass there is low quality? Sure they're not all 400's and 600's, but there are plenty of solid non-Tamron/Sigma/Tokina lenses there. I see a Nikon 14-24mm/2.8, a few 180mm/2.8 primes, 24mm/1.4, 50mm/1.4...
So does Google, constantly suggesting the best way to get from Harlem to Flatiron necessitates walking through the horrible tunnel connecting Times Sq 42nd St to Port Authority. Google really needs to assign a time penalty to that routing beyond just walking a block.
How is this different from Mapnificent, which Giz and others covered last year? [gizmodo.com]
Ahem...double-keg-lifting-robot at 1:37? That is awesome.
And also the Garmin 496 sitting on the dashboard
I got the video via my screen. You must have some interesting speakers.
Agreed. But this app does launch a dialog indicating it's accessing Location Services, and asks for permission. It also uses the Location Services API, and the app's access to it can be disabled in the Privacy tab of Security and Privacy in System Prefs.
And the app prompts you at startup?
"I've never seen this happen."
As mentioned, NYC has this on the Tappan Zee... as well as on the Long Island Expressway, just east of the midtown tunnel.
....battery life?
this is doubtlessly a composite image
How'd that work out for AF447?
