I just finished a 5 year loan and I think that’s going to be the last one for a long while. Probably as long as I can turn a wrench, or until I get sick of it. Which ever comes first.
10% is pretty reasonable. let’s say $60k a year, so $6k on transport a year is $500 a month. My relatively cheap insurance is ~$100 a month, plus let’s say $60 a week for gas. That’s already $340 and we haven’t even made a car payment. Or paid taxes on the income.
It will definitely get ugly.
There is an actual market for leasing, it’s definitely not for when you want to keep the car forever.
I worked at a dealer and someone trade in their previous model year lease for a new one because it had a back-up camera. Same car, same colour, same trim, just with a back-up camera.
