This spring someone around here was selling a Pontiac Montana that they put the FWD LS into.

Due to the nature of automotive repair, contaminants like other oil based fluids and coolant are regularly mixed with oil, so the companies that recycle it have to have a a way of separating it out or their end product would be worthless.

My city is actually pretty ahead of the curve on recycling.

Put everything in oil containers and mix it with used motor oil. Let the company actually recycling the oil deal with it.

Modern trucks ride extremely well. I just don’t personally see the appeal of one over another. Unless there was a specific feature that one offered, it would be a null value to me.

I drove a 25 foot Freightliner box truck for about a year delivering windows.

Not ‘couldn’t’, the owner ‘wouldn’t’ fix them. He says he’s willing to repair them if you pay for parts and labour, so he has the ability.

VW people are some of the strangest “car guys” out there.

I’m thinking the current leaks were the nail in the coffin and the owner just noped out of dealing with it. Or was told to get rid of it.

The yard their in is probably nothing more than storage.

There’s snow on the ground 3-4 months a year here. I don’t think anyone’s even attempted to solve that problem yet.

Cab drivers weren’t getting rich to begin with. Maybe some were, but by and large it’s an OK job at best. At least around here, where Uber fears to tread, “rideshares” cost the same as a taxi.

It is weird since it’s a common model with shared drive train components.

My last job had 100% company paid benefits. It was pretty sweet.

The current generation of Camaro doesn’t sell for the same reason the fourth generation didn’t sell. They’re ugly and by the time you get into a top model you can get into a Corvette.

I think a couple of generations ago, around ~MY2008, when they introduced the idea of a hybrid mid-size it was limited to the Saturn Aura. And we all know how that turned out.

It’s become accepted practice at the local level, in almost every circumstance.

Someone with money to burn, or didn’t pay for their ticket.

I don’t know about where you live, but around here fines related to commercial trucks are no joke.

I don’t know about the UAW/CAW, but unions in general have a habit of sticking out their neck for the wrong people.
