If I replace the awful wheels and the windshield, I would still have a 30+ year-old car with torn seats. Maybe if your hunting for a RADwood ticket, $3200 might be okay, but first-gen Legends were the original suburban dad cars when they were on the market.  I vote a reluctant CP for a tainted survivor.

They are, however, very good at collecting fines, trapping people in cycles of debt, and disproportionally targeting, harassing, and killing Black people and people of color.”

Except that’s the opposite of true for margins.

There’s a lesson here about our constant need for the next shiny new thing. Especially for us car enthusiasts.

RIP

A damn shame. Something is up for them to have the best seller in the segment, even though it’s old as hell, and kill it. The recent debuts of the new Sienna and Sedona didn’t tell them that they should’ve kept it around? At least there’s still the Pacifica/Voyager.

I mean, if we’re going to take the claim of unions tending towards violence at face value, we should probably throw in a claim of management tending towards violence, too. Because there was a lot of that...

Use the Gizmodo Media Group affiliate link too, thx.

Anyway, “buy American” has a deeply racist past and using that as a guiding principle to buy, well, anything seems kind of strange when “buy local” or “buy union-made” are just sitting right there.

*rolls eyes*

No way dude.

End municipal policing.

Speaking from 15 years experience in the hotel industry, they should have ‘walked’ you to a comparable hotel nearby and paid for your room there. That’s the industry standard when overbookings occur.

That part of the dealer experience isn’t bad. The bad part is when you go to the stupid little glass office and watch numbers dance on paper and know they are trying to rip you off.
Then you go to a deeper office and the pages upon pages of legalese designed to deceive is shoveled in front of you.  And for some reason

Counterpoint: I will never buy a vehicle I have neither sat in nor driven. And, to do those things, you have to go to a dealership.

Sorry but 250hp pushing 2800lbs is just fine. The Prowler fails the brag test not the drive test.

Lukewarm take: The remake is a better movie than the original. The original has one thing going for it and that’s an amazing chase scene and... that’s it.

??? you don’t want the good looks of a classic car plus the handling of a car with modern suspension and radials? at least he cut up a new car! doing it this way is a bit extra as projects go but, in his defense he’s presenting a show, so it kinda needs to be extra to give viewers an incentive to choose this build

Gone in 60 Seconds is a bit dated now sure, but it was the epitome of spending three hours on a Saturday watching a two hour movie on TBS while doing something else. Claiming it lost money (240 box on 100 budget) is hollywood accounting at its finest, like Warner Bros claiming Harry Potter lost money.
