Had a car die in -40 weather once. Even though I only had to wait 30 minutes for a ride and have dealt with this shit all my life, I was still surprised by how fast I got cold. And I was dressed warmer than most people. 

In my experience the cost of the yearly subscription is usually about as much as a single tow. If your car is fuckered and the membership is paid, that’s another $80 you don’t have to worry about.

Go outside, start the car. If it is outside I turn the defrost on high heat and the fan on the highest speed so maybe I won’t have to scrape all the ice off the windshield. Also turn on the rear defrost.

Adjusting the heat (dial) adjusts how much hot coolant flows through the heater core. If you have automatic climate control it will adjust the flow of coolant and the speed of the fan as the system feels it needs to. 

The AMG might be have the ability to go off-road, but first you would need a proper wheel and tire combination.
