Jeeps have gone from this:

The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.

These cars had two thermostats, the one I replaced had “remove engine mount” as the first step in the manual.  I hate these cars.

The H2 certainly carried a payload of Ugly American cultural baggage far out of proportion to the rather costly vehicle’s actual numbers. I’d say it was more in the mainstream of bombastic truck/SUV styling,

The SmartCar. A tiny death trap that doesn’t even get that great of fuel economy when you consider it’s size. The Aztec may have been ugly at the time, but the styling actually isn’t all that bad looking at it today, and it’s still a practical vehicle. The PT Loser and HHR are pretty crummy, but they have some

My aunt was a left-foot braker, it worked terrible all of the time but especially when she tried to panic-stop and instead mashed both pedals. She smacked into a wall of traffic on the 405, then claimed someone must have rear-ended her into them despite no rear end damage on the car she had borrowed from my mom.

All touch-screen interfaces are unsafe, and have become an opportunity for manufacturers to cut costs.

My hill to die on is that I’ll always choose revs over outright speed. GT3 > Turbo S, 458 > 488, etc.

This may have been roughtly 51% of the reason I purchased a C5 Corvette; I needed the newest car I could get with pop ups and a Lotus Esprit wasn’t cutting it (which ironically in it’s dying days used the same hardware as C5 Corvettes that Lotus secured from GM).

Not going to fight. Going to add something people don’t think about...

Pop up headlights are the best headlights.

Automobiles only come in four colors, red, British Racing Green, black, and “who cares.”

Fight Me!

Wait, there was functional editing here prior to Rory abandoning ship? I must have been reading a different Jalopnik.

I would agree but this is not a Putin thing. This is greed pure and simple. These fuckers are ALWAYS looking for an excuse to stick it to the average consumer. This is based in fact, and supported by history. The issue here is we are mostly selfish turds who believe we should have the right to live and act as we

I dunno, there are plenty of refineries in the Bay Area, and last I checked they’re rounding $6/gallon.

Tell that to the poor who tend to drive more and have older vehicles which get worse mileage. My gardener sure as fuck is having a harder time “sucking it up”.

Man I wish my Jeep actually got the mileage that it advertised, that’d be super nice.

At the same time, most states with tollways are doing away with toll attendants. Everyone is capable of pumping their own gas, and especially now, aren’t there plenty of other and possibly better jobs available?

The irony is that this weekend I saw the highest gas prices of my lifetime and saw my first Buggati Veyron on the road in my city.
