The seam is just cosmetic. It’s still a single body panel underneath.

So true. And for some people, if they have a bad car, they will hold that grudge for YEARS. I remember reading a review of a Jeep Cherokee on a non-car specific website a while back, and one of the leading comments was some person argued that they could not consider a Cherokee because of how much trouble they had with

As a Jeep owner, I’ve always felt the same way. I’m astonished at the number of newer Wranglers I see running about with hard tops.

I scrolled back up to look at it and thought it looked great, til I realized I was looking this time at the Ferrari speedo. When I scrolled back up to the Ford, I saw what you were seeing, and indeed, it is awful.

Probably about 10 years ago now... It was Christmas time, it was an annoying rain / snow mix all day. I was behind a triaxle at a red light under the highway, to turn left up the on ramp onto the highway.

Ah, the 80s...you can't open the back windows, but you can smoke back there!

Of course as a Pennsylvanian, I vote PA. Yeah, we got really shitty potholes and are really rough. But how many other states can say that their bridges ars so bad, that they had to build a bridge just to catch the falling pieces of concrete crumbling off of another bridge?? Google Pittsburgh’s Greenfield Bridge.

I live firmly in Sheetz territory, so I have to fly that flag.

I just saw a convertible 95-99 cavalier the other day.  Thing looked like it just rolled off the showroom!

I live right off an interstate, and there's a supercharger. So despite no one around here driving one, I see a lot of Teslas rolling around.

That’s how it all starts

I loled at the last sentence, as a jeep owner in similarly rust belt Pennsylvania,  I understand only too well.

Same. I read a great article about our age group.  Look up Oregon trail generation.

I have no idea why, but seeing the Earnhardt 3 on the shuttle made me literally laugh out loud.

The ratio of rust/steel of a 1993 Geo surely must be such that hitting anything bigger than a curb would cause the car to simply dissolve.

IT BELONGS IN A MUSEUM!

I’ve been parking in my boss’s spot since she’s doing work from home during the pandemic, and her spot is closer to my building. I have been parking right beside a manual transmission Fusion for months (in my 5 speed Subaru).

Maybe it defines my family’s tv watching, but Jim Rockford’s Firebird is far more iconic in my memory.

Thanks for this article. William Durant is an interesting guy, and there was a long time where it wasn’t easy to find information about him. Even his Wikipedia entry for a long time was little more than “he founded GM.”

Not to sound cynical, but the UAW’s job is to maximize their membership. They aren’t particularly concerned with well being.
