Let it be known, I always stand for the flag. After the 5th time a yellow flag is thrown during the game I stand up and walk outside to do something else.

Is Capitan America the non-union Mexican equivalent?

Have you considered a typing course?

Seconded. I really didn’t expect this perspective, but it works surprisingly well, and explain a lot of my shrug.

I just finished watching this movie, and goddamn Ethan, you really hit the nail on the head.

It was a laughable image. The entire scene would have played better if she was imply injured in the attack.

In a sea of online unearned smugness, you’ve topped them all.

People acting like they’re on the right side of some major historical event because they liked a movie? THAT’s my least favorite part of this movie.

They could have solved that problem by not killing Snoke and Phasma and actually following the thread they pulled by making it appear that maybe Ren was going to turn, or at least strike out on his own. Instead they painted themselves into a corner and left us with Ren and his temper tantrums.

Maybe they have big plans

It would have been a huge character moment if they hadn’t just reverted Ren to a hate-filled, angsty teenager again immediately after. Cool plot point with story potential wasted. There are a bunch in this movie. It’s too bad, really.

“Most normal people”? What is that? I’d wager everyone in this thread is a Star Wars fan to some degree and most of them are defending the movie. So clearly “Star Wars fans” aren’t just gatekeeping or whatever.

“Some people are insufferable.” That’s more accurate. That’s the case with literally everything. If anything,

People have to stop going “Theme! QED!” Having a theme doesn’t mean your execution is perfect. And many people had issues with the execution of said theme. That doesn’t mean they didn’t get it; it simply means they didn’t like how events played out.

Oh c’mon now, don’t pull a No True Scotsman on us.

I honestly stopped caring about Poe because of it. As Ethan said, they could have better character developed in the resistance ship.

That Finn be developed is necessary. The way it was done, not so much.

If you don’t understand why the Finn and Rose adventure was important

I was truly disappointed by this movie. I keep reading people say shit like “the people who hate this are the same who said TFA was too much like A New Hope and that just isn’t true at all. Just because something is unpredictable doesn’t mea it’s good. Twists for the sake of twists and subverting what we know and love

“everyone who disagrees with me is a troll”

By the time this scene happened I had already checked out and was joyfully pulling on the threads of awfulness and thought the same thing. If one ship can lightspeed destroy and entire fleet why are they just shooting lightspeed ships at each other?

The Last Jedi story structure goes like this:

I was out as soon as Leia woke up and started flying through space like Iron Man. This movie sucks, it has a few cool visuals and that’s about it.
