I sort of pile him in with Sandler and Jim Carrey. Funny or at least tolerable in the right comedy, and capable of pumping out strong dramatic parts, but it swings wildly between that and cringingly unfunny or grating. I am still a big fan of Talladega Nights, Zoolander, and Elf, and I enjoyed Stranger than fiction

Yeah... I have to go rooting around up there once a month to make sure my IUD is in place and that baby is chilling in my cervix. Even if you can’t yank an object out, surely a quick five second self-checkup should reveal whether or not there is a crayon stuck in your vagina.

I know a girl who has become modestly influencer famous (not just crummy discount codes, actual sponsored posts!) and like 75% of her captions have to do with how much she loves to stuff her face and drink booze. 99% of her posts have nothing to do with food or booze, and she is very tall/thin/conventionally

Ha, I remember one year my mom gifted me with a bunch of clothes with sequins and cheesy slogans on them. I think by that point I was in my early twenties and a fairly ~classy~ dresser. I would’t say it was an insulting gift, because she meant well by it, but it was one of the (many) moments in my life that I realized

So I was a huge reader growing up and then university kind of ruined me. This year I set a goal to read 24 books (thanks goodreads!) and finished ahead of time. Yay! Part of getting it done was getting over this snobbish compulsion of mine to only read Serious Novels and avoid books that are, as stated above, “widely

Yeah, I wouldn’t watch him to begin with because I find him mostly loud and obnoxious rather than funny. Most of these “jokes” were just him bullying others by using slurs and making light of child abuse. And then later on when he went on to say that he wouldn’t REALLY be mad, just feel like he had failed as a parent

I forgot that they presented together so I thought it was a bit of a random match-up, but I am... intrigued. I love Sandra Oh and I am definitely not in the anti-Samberg camp. As much as I know a lot of people find Samberg intolerable I would definitely take him over the three hours of screeching that will be the 2019

“When I’m on Tinder and it says I’m 69, I don’t get an answer,” he said. “When I’m 49, with the face I have, I will be in a luxurious position.””

The price increases of designer goods is totally artificial and you see it the worst with shoes and bags, especially in core designs that are carried every season (or every other season for seasonal items). I worked in luxury retail for several years and it was shocking how much the prices went up, although the

I’ve always said I would hate to be proposed to in a restaurant or via a flash mob, but I’ll have to add “outside the Times Square Olive Garden” to that list.

This is what I don’t get. Do people think that these diseases were eradicated in the western world coincidentally, or do they genuinely think that polio and measles is NBD?

Is that the horn of Gondor or are you just happy to see me?

Yes! I work in the homelessness sector myself and it’s a million times easier to do case management when the individual has a phone - no trying to track people down at different shelters or drop-ins, or being unsure if the person got your message because there’s no ROI with other agencies they access.

I remember someone I know lamenting how someone who owned a smartphone couldn’t possibly be homeless. Or hell, the people who said refugees couldn’t possibly have their lives at risk because they were wearing Levi’s and had phones... as if those things act as a bomb shelter or provide access to sanitary water and food.

Right? Less Calgary and more, say, Bragg Creek or Black diamond.

I saw an episode where the category was literally just Canadian province/territory abbreviations and I don’t think they got a single one right. I know extremely basic Canadian geography isn’t as sexy as the wives of 18th century European philosophers or whatever, but COME ON. There’s no reason these trivia nuts and

I loooove Aerie and I am not a tween. I buy all my underwear there and they make decent swimsuits and work out clothing as well. And they’re always having sales so that helps.

People seem to idealize The Past for so many reasons, including health. Someone on my friends list once claimed that if we just ate organic apples like our grandparents we wouldn’t need modern medical interventions. Now, my grandparents lived to be elderly but they had many siblings, some of whom died very young and

Honestly, I prefer celebrity likes to the insatiable horde of instagram influencers whose quest to monetize their social media habits has seen instagram turn into a joyless timesuck on par with Facebook, with all the people you actually know buried under endless watch giveaways and desperately collected photos at

I’ve spent a decent chunk of change on travel, but I was always a budget traveler (I’ve only recently graduated from hostel dorms to Airbnb’s and I would probably go back to the dorms if I was alone)  so I’m gonna go with a couple of one offs:
