The first Grandia is great, though to be honest I never beat it (got right to the end, for some reason this happened a lot when I was a kid/teen). I still have fond memories of playing this on my very own 13" TV when it came out. Just be prepared for some pretty bad voice acting. Everything else about the game is top

Why stop at Soul Blazer? Get some Illusion of Gaia and Terranigma action in there as well!

I second that vote. At least the DQ IX part. I wouldn't call it old in slightest. Personally, I'd like to see Dragon Quest IV or V. VII too.

Now, everyone, go back and read this in the voice of Dr. Manhattan. Perfect fit.

I started making parallels a couple weeks ago when the Atari exhumation was big in the news. Cheap, bad/mediocre games are bad for the industry, and the indie scene is going to have to learn this fact too.

I think you forgot the subheader "Does anyone actually care 3 months later??"

I tried it briefly. It works, and the iPhone screen makes games look great, but at the end of the day you're still playing on touch controls which kinda sucks. I'd rather just play on my SP.

We'll get plenty of answers, just maybe not the one you desire.

Let's revisit the social crusade part in a week, and the sales part in a couple months. Then we'll know the facts. :)

They could certainly add it. But doing so is likely more complicated than you'd think, and would likely cost more than nintendo's localization budget would allow. This game isn't exactly going to sell like hot cakes.

Hopefully this apology will calm the (small, vocal) critics crying foul.

I'd never really considered this prospect until now, because frankly, the next gen feels barely out of the womb at this point. But you're right, and I've felt it too; while I was never a good judge about who cares about shooters, it seems like fewer people than ever are at this moment.

Not perfect, but many of them are close enough. Byuu works toward a level of accuracy that some would consider diminishing returns.

All downhill since then? Let's be a little more fair, Jason. Suikoden V is an amazing game, nearly as good as II, and III can hold its own though it certainly doesn't pace in my short list.

I feel you. I want a PS4 eventually, but there's nothing I'm really dying for that I can't already play on my 360/PS3/Wii U.

Console release, please.

Jason Schreier: Giving voice to the feelings of "bwah?" I've had since this announcement.

Completely agree with your use of Nier; it's a very niche game for a specific audience. In fact, it's in instances like Nier that I'm more likely to trust the general consensus of fans over what critics are saying, because there are few critics that would really do this type of genre justice.

Vaguely... But I honestly couldn't tell you anything important about it.

You're not. I've never heard of this site before today.
