“Games I have nostalgia for, and games that I don’t.”

Dan will remember that.

who else fondly remembers reading instruction manuals on the toilet in between gaming sessions?

My late grandparents survived the Holocaust, so the fact that stories like this are still happening today is surreal if not entirely surprising. But I must admit I find the handwringing over whether or not it’s OK to punch Nazis to be kinda sickening. Dude believes that all non-whites should be removed from America in

Let me just take a moment to thank Shout Factory and all the fantastic things they do. Like releasing 90s classic ‘Reboot’ in a single collection, for a fraction of the pre-released eBay prices. For that alone I give them a fair share of bandwidth when doing crazy shit like this.

If you want story in your game, Tokyo Mirage Sessions is NOT excellent... The battle system is indeed excellent, but that’s it.

I’m the opposite. I have a PS4 Pro and Xbox One, and the only thing I use my Xbox for is Halo. The PS4 (especially the Pro) runs multi-platform games better than the Xbox. If you take a look at games like Battlefield 4 or Battlefield One side by side on both platforms, the PS4 really looks much better.

What gets me more is when the “jump” button switches between running and riding a Chocobo.

Get outta here with those remake screenshots. Woof.

AM2R is fantastic. I’m glad it exists at all. To the guy who created it: 10 years of your life were not “...a waste...” (general quote to sum up some of the nasty stuff I’ve been seeing on various sites) and MANY of us enjoyed your remake.

Yes, yes. We know the modern gamer is entitled to not encounter any hardship or inconvenience. Random battles have always padded out games. Some balance them in more than others. Doesn’t mean it’s broken. Just means you don’t like it.

Really excited to read this when I’m not at work, but felt compelled to raise a Toys “R” Us tangent:

This game is absolute amazeballs if you love classic metroid. The little bits of text lore when you get to a new area still throws me off a bit but it’s been so many years since I’ve not known exactly where to go next in a metroid game. Not since fusion probably.

You did a pretty terrible job of giving up on Kotaku.

It’s the job of localizers to understand the context of their translations. Yes, Watergate kicked off the “gate” phenomenon, but GamerGate is fresh in people’s minds. Though the placement of the screenshots on social media proved more provocative than what’s actually in Paper Mario, if you’re familiar with gaming’s

The joke is based on the Watergate scandal because the dancing contest was rigged. The use of the -gate suffix has been part of popular culture long before Gamergate was even a thing. The name “ Five Fun Guys” is a “fungi” pun since they are 5 Toads in the group. The number 5 is a reference to Watergate because 5 men

Miyamoto focused on asking, “Is that fun?” and “Does that feel right?”
