Silver Sable?

I know that it is kind of cliche for Texas to form its own country, but I like the fact that they don't both with Nation or Federation or Commonwealth. Just Texas. Like that's all you need to know.

Yossarian talked a bit about this in Catch-22: http://niqnaq.wordpress.com/2009/07/19/the-god-i-dont-believe-in-is-a-good-kind-god/

Talk to people from Rwanda?

Off the SF vein, is Justified which is based on Elmore Leonard stories and is absolutely hands-down one of the best shows on TV.

Yeah, this video is kind of weird. I am not a military history, but I do seem to remember that there were some battles in the Eastern US during the 1860s. And I was looking for some more Muslim/Mongol clashes in the 13th century.

Before I looked at the comments I went and found this exact same video because it was the very first thing to occur to me. Talk about a show that got hosed by scheduling.

I was completely ready to ignore this movie until I realized that the new protagonist is Scott Adkins. He is amazing in low-budget action movies. This will sound completely insane, but Undisputed II: Last Man Standing (sequel in name to the Westley Snipes/Ving Rhames movie) is a minor action classic.

I can't believe I missed that. That is one beautiful call-out.

As I was watching I started thinking "Man, that robot sounds familiar." I laughed when I realized that it was Robert Webb. And then I thought "I hope that the other one is David Mitchell." Slightly silly, but for Mitchell and Webb I am willing to forgive quite a lot of silly.

There is an airship that flies tours out of San Francisco. It's really amazing, but pricey. While on it I asked about trans-Atlantic travel by Zeppelin. I was told that to build the Zeppelin would take hundreds of millions of dollars. So, barring Bill Gates really getting into Zeppelin travel, I am not seeing it

I was reading through the comments and all I could think was that people must be considering Ladyhawke to be fantasy and therefore not applicable. I am glad that someone else mentioned it.

Doing something like this would actually get you invited to my party rather than shunned.

Where's "Horror of Fang Rock" or "Talons of Weng Chiang"? I know that there are odd racial bits in the latter, but I don't think that they are worse than "Tomb of the Cybermen".

This is kind of old news. http://alumni.stanford.edu/get/page/magazine/article/?article_id=33995 Why is it becoming a thing now?

Actually, I am totally with you on this. I was surprised that this reboot came so quickly on the heels of the last one. And this one is even dumber than that one was. I do have to say that I have been enjoying the Green Lantern section of the DC Universe because it seems to have decided that ignoring everything

Time flies. All the new issues are at #12, so it's been a year. Of course, it was only 4 years before that that they rebooted the whole thing the last time.

Man, if only. Jordan is a dork.

Exactly.

It's not very big, but the library out at the Skywalker Ranch is one of the most beautiful and pleasant that I have ever seen. Plus it is surrounded by props from Star Wars and Indiana Jones movies.
