Yes, Bernie did. As I said in my first post. Bernie, like most career politician Dems, had briefly backtracked a couple months ago. I asked what leftwing or progressive groups other than Democrats have done this? You are the one that keeps making statements about the left without defining what that means or responding

Yeah. Perfect is the enemy of good.

First off, we aren’t talking about changes over time. We are talking about right now, the near future and the recent past. So sure, Democrats used to support slavery and Republicans were the party of Lincoln. A century from now, if the two parties still exist, they will be different again. We are seeing a similar

I like Sanders, don’t get me wrong. I voted for him and think he did a lot of good, especially in the reaching out to disaffected voters, mobilizing the movement we have now, bringing issues of economic justice to the table, etc. But yes, he is on the progressive to Dem Socialist spectrum, though he’s not a member of

Point! Heee.

As someone who was also raised in a poor black community, I don’t want any advertising of soda anywhere. You act as if we need to live in a world where garbage is advertised. Sometimes I forget how centrist/moderate many on Jezebel are. There is nothing radical about the politics on this website and you perfectly

Seriously— I thought millennials were supposed to be more connected & informed than their stodgy boomer grandparents, or something. Instead, naah, all we’re hearing is “I didn’t get my way! Burn the whole thing down!”

How it affected Beyonce? People died and lost their homes.

I’m not sure how much time I care to spend on this given the position you have taken. To me, it shows either what a diehard Bey fan you are or how far removed you are from the problem.

SheeshTheseNames, you’re straight up pathetic. You’ve concluded I’m a troll because I don’t like Beyonce and I care about poor and black communities? Oh god, seek help.

So you think it’s okay for Beyonce to take someone else’s work and pain and use it for herself to sell a song?

It doesn’t matter what her connection is. If she wasn’t there in reality, she shouldn’t put herself there in the video, let alone looking amazing. There were real people stranded, suffering. People died and she is in the video looking baller.

I think she can be really bad in this arena, but the worse thing is, I don’t even think she knows. I think she just ignores it and lets her team do what it does. She has always been sort of a blank slate for the team around her to project an image onto.

Her team has been stealing a few things from artists without their consent. That’s garbage.

Just like when people criticize Trump and he says what about Obama, Hillary, etc. You’re doing exactly what Trump does. Keep trying to deflect.

So why was she on top of a cop car during a flood looking glamorous? To me, she could have highlighted the disaster without having to promote herself. She wasn’t there during Katrina so why is she there in the video? It really looks like she is just using Katrina as a prop in her video.

Yo, still waiting on the point. Why exactly is Beyonce on top of a car on a flooded street during a disaster looking glamorous? I mean, in reality, she was most likely in LA or Tribeca when Katrina happened. Excited to know what that point is. I’m sure it’s flawless.

Yeah and especially because it’s so integral to the piece. I had just his line stuck in my head yesterday.

So what’s the point?

Nothing like using the devastation of Katrina as a prop in your video. As long as you look cool, right?
