Agreed. Everyone likes to think their choices and preferences are independent of their culture and upbringing, but that’s never really true. Maybe it’s a control thing, and people don’t like the idea that their mindset was created and shaped without their consent.

People who romanticize the past are only looking at the era through the eyes of the privileged groups. Anyone who says “I wish I was born in this era” assumes that they’ll be wealthy (or middle class, at least) and not part of an oppressed group.

Thiiiis. Whenever people talk about how they wish they lived in a different time period, they’re always assuming that they’ll be part of the more privileged, powerful groups. No one thinks that they’ll be lower class, or part of an oppressed minority. Just saying, ya don’t see a lot of black people romanticizing the

I like how she says if she actually was born during that time, she might be obsessed with an earlier time period instead, ha ha.

I get liking the aesthetic of a time period, but I don’t get people who think these eras were always better to live in.

Interesting idea. It would be kind of cool if they set it up so you find different types of Pokemon in different places, like if you’re at the beach, you find water type Pokemon.

This ad makes the game look shady, like they’re going around illegally capturing and smuggling wild animals.

I like how she sends her son to a STEM school but doesn’t want him to learn basic anatomy.

Eh, a lot of “sex ed” and “health” classes in the US are pretty lacking, though I don’t know what it’s like in their state. And even if the school does have a good program, most allow parents to opt their kids out for religious reasons and such.

I love how some people think that ANYTHING with nudity or descriptions of genitals or sexuality is automatically pornographic.

Agreed. I really hate the idea that refusing to forgive someone means you’re holding onto anger and hate forever and that you’re letting the incident control your life. It’s perfectly possible to move on without forgiving someone. And you know what? Sometimes it’s better to hold onto a little bit of anger and

I disagree that forgiveness is for the forgiver. It’s perfectly possible to move on from being hurt without forgiving the person who did it to you. People only say forgiveness helps the victim move on as a way to get them to do it.

New converts to any group tend to be the most overzealous and annoying.

^ This. Many jobs require you to perform multiple tasks. It’s not unreasonable to only want to hire people who can perform all of the major tasks. For flight attendants, serving alcohol is often a big part of the job.

It could easily be a pain in the ass for her coworkers, I get why they would complain, especially if they’re busy, and especially because planes can be a stressful work environment. While serving alcohol isn’t the primary purpose of FA, it’s often a big part of the job. Why keep someone on if they can’t do a huge

Agreed. And while serving alcohol isn’t the primary purpose of an FA, it’s often a big part of the job.

This is what I figured. Her accommodations could easily be a pain in the ass for her coworkers. Like, I used to work at a cafeteria style place, often working the food line. If I refused to serve meat, my coworkers probably would’ve gotten really annoyed if I had to call them over every time someone asked for the

Now I want to see a fan art series of different celebrities drawn as Pokemon trainers.

This looks like something a pirate would wear. I actually like it.

My class would spend sooooo much time on WWII. We would get a little bit on Vietnam and the Civil Rights movement, but to what I learned in school, American history ends after MLK is shot. This was so we could spend the last few weeks of school learning “test taking skills” (the same useless ones we always learn) for
