Seriously. They just focused on the “girls” part and ignored everything else. I take no issue with adults reading YA, but a college reading list should have something more substantial.

It’s punching down. Dessen is a well-known author with a lot of fans. The critic is just some random college student in North Dakota. If you’re a famous person and you call someone out, you’re gonna bring a lot of negative attention to that person, and it’s not fair to do that to someone who has little influence over

That was in a previous year. This student, who is the target of this hate, had nothing to do with that decision.

But it’s not like this student was involved in the decision to include Ready Player One on the list years ago. And it’s not like she was advocating for male YA novel to be added to the list. She pushed for Just Mercy, a book about racial injustice in the legal system.

For real. I have no problem with adults reading YA, but a college reading list should be college level.

The 50/50 offer from Disney is not a good financial deal for Sony. Sure, their Spider-Man movies probably won’t be making a billion dollars, but they’d be getting 100% of the profit. Unless their Spider-Man movies perform very poorly, it’s arguably the smarter choice.

I hope they work out a deal. I hate when stuff ends on a cliffhanger!

I really had my heart set on going to the first showing at Alamo Drafthouse. The website kept crashing so much, and the app wouldn’t work at all. It took me half an hour, but I managed to snag the last ticket!

Racist white people assume that other white people are as racist as they are, so I’ve had other white people (sometimes complete strangers) tell me that I should get with a white guy and have white babies to preserve the white race. Bleh. Someday I’ll have the courage to make a scene, scream “I’LL HAVE WHATEVER COLOR

That, plus they didn’t have anything to work with. I read the first book, and Edward and Bella are extremely bland characters.

What a jackass. Ariana is an entertainer, not like, a disaster relief worker or whatever. The attack probably traumatized her, even if she wanted to stay to comfort other victims she probably wasn’t in a good position to do so.

“Take the bus”. I don’t condone unsafe driving, buuuuut lots of places don’t have a half decent public transportation system, or don’t have one at all.

I was a child, though I didn’t see the attacks, I remember the years of aftermath. I remember thinking that “freedom fries” was the dumbest thing ever.

I read an article about it in Seventeen.

Apparently he was a dick to the other actors and a pain in the ass to work with. There are rumors that he didn’t much care for trans people but as far as I know, those are just rumors.

Yes! The first few episodes are notoriously slow, they spend so much time trying to set up the premise.

I like this idea.

Is this for real? I know lots of similar stories turned out to be hoaxes.
