The Darwin's tubercle on my left ear is far more pronounced on my left ear than on my right.

Minimum wage workers at fast food joints don't try real hard to sanitize climbing equipment designed to accomodate the bodies of five year olds?

Yeah, I can see how sex ed with this guy would be awkward.

It's a good thing you left "life size wicker moose" for the end. I don't think I could have gotten past that concept if you had led with it.

A reverse Don Cherry sounds like the ultimate ironic move in a diving competition. A perfect 10 from the Russian judge!

I know I'm not as up-to-speed with the current SF literature as I used to be (or would like to be) but the cover blurb proclaiming "Best selling authors" rings a little overblown when I've never even heard of any of them. Am I missing out on something?

Okay it shows at the beginning that the TV censors rated it Y7 which is sort of like a "hard" G at the movies but parents complained and the network pulled it from rotation. Meanwhile Doctor Who is directly marketed at children in the UK.

On the bright side (?) getting an owl would solve your 3 cats problem.

mrs-falcons' cousin took the "love, honor, submit" wedding vows while the groom agreed to "love, honor, and understand her womanly make-up." We had an inkling it might go something like this - my attendance was conditional on being able to wear the wear the most garish tie in my closet.

We had eggs. Mine cracked slightly but I gave him a band-aid and passed.

Comparing anything to Twilight is unfair as everything comes off looking like Moby Dick. That said Hunger Games is a good, quick read and quite enjoyable if you like things with dark undertones and some nasty violence. Some people complain about the writing but I think it was intentional as it's a first person

If they do The Munsters with Ron Perlman and Melinda Clarke I will watch.

I shan't quibble with this list too much as I've only read 41% of it (fantasy is not usually my thing) but I must say, leaving Ellison, Delaney, Brin, Benford, Silverberg and Ian McDonald off are some glaring omissions. (Which probably wouldn't have happened on a more targeted website like io9.) On a personal level

I shan't quibble too much as I've only read 41% of the list (Fantasy generally isn't my thing) but I will say I see some glaring omissions. Eifelheim and Spin were the two most gripping books I've read recently, in the "up until 2 am/can't put it down" category. Ellison and Delaney really should be in here somewhere

I can live with God Emperor but Chapterhouse was simply unforgiveable.

That zombie isn't scary. Even a kitten could kill it!

Where do you think the balloons came from?

I imagine if your company is trying to do a proof of concept or working out the kinks in some new technology it's easier to make a short film from an existing story than try to create the story as well as the CGI. Or it's the equivalent of fanfic for people with access to this kind of equipment, i.e. a labor of love.

I was the youngest and we moved across the country a week after I was born. I slept in a drawer of a built-in dresser for a while until they got a crib for me. I also used to sleep on the dashboard of the station wagon on long trips. Thinking back it seems possible my parents didn't really want a ninth mouth around
