I was aware of the location and non-readers should know they're in for spoilers. I'm just commenting on the size of the spoiler. Most stuff here is pretty inconsequential compared to the death of Lord Eddard.

If you haven't already read A Game of Thrones that is one big-ass spoiler right there.

And the monkey men, don't forget the monkey men.

Nobody said that this is a list of the ten best SF films, just ten films better than ESB and Serenity.

Somebody's been reading Shades of Grey.

That's what she said.

Nobody denies that Darth Vader was a dickhead.

You beat me to it. She would be absolutely brilliant as the Doctor.

Tell it to the hand.

Charlie Jane, you just stop that right now! Nobody needs to be reminded of that.

I really think the book would be better served as a one-off 10-12 part HBO mini-series a la Band of Brothers. If Game of Thrones is any indication it would be a whole lot cheaper as well.

I'll give you parts of the middle section is brilliant but the first fifteen and last fifteen minutes are some of the worst, self-indulgent film-making I've ever sat through. Being trippy for the sake of being trippy may have worked in 1968, not so much 40+ years later.

I haven't seen Metropolis but thank you for agreeing with me in advance on 2001. God how I hate that movie.

Never trust collage kids - they just cut and paste their answers.

Oryx and Crake isn't science fiction, Margaret Atwood said so herself! :P

Sometimes the aliens are defeated by science fiction writers as in Footfall.

I just saw this on HDNet last week. Fantastic series with Stephen Fry travelling the world in search of endangered species.

They aren't going to call the first Hobbit movie There and the second movie Back Again? Sadness.

Wait 20 years until today's kids have to look back on all the leggings and Ugg boots. At least we had good music.

Never mind then.
